| Quote ="AS108"Cas are a very overrated side. They’re a team with largely bang average players and have been punching above their weight for a few years due to a great coach and other sides underperforming. There will come a point were their refusal to sign any big name players will cost them and I fancy that could happen this season. I am surprised by the amount of people who have put Cas in their top 3 on social media. Mata’utia as an outside bet for MOS is a ridiculous prediction as well.
I’d go for:
1. Saints
2. Wire
3. Wigan
4. Leeds
5. Catalans
6. Cas
7. Hull fc
8. Wakey
9. Huddersfield
10. Salford
11. Hull Kr
12. London.
GF: Saints
CC: Wire'"
I see you are still upset we beat you in semi final 15 month ago. I would take our forwards over any in superleague. However I do agree with you about our 1 to 7. Looking very weak.

There are a few sides with better packs than Castlefords.

| Quote ="SaleSlim"Ok that hurt my brain a little bit reading that, a few extra full stops would definitely have helped!
Re: Avoiding the MPG. Leeds were handed 2 points against Salford by the ref as Myler cheated to get you a late match winning penalty. Ok so even without that penalty it would have been a draw but that one point would have meant you'd avoided being in the MPG by a single point. Not exactly ripping up trees was it?
Re: Leeds strengthening. Yes you've signed a couple of decent Aussies (tho I've heard Hurrell isn't the same player he was) but you've got an old pack and you've lost your best winger (the only world class player you had).
Re: Wakey. Far more strength in depth in that Wakey squad than you give them credit for and an already huge forward pack reinforced by one of SL's most underrated forwards (Kopczak). I'm sure most SL fans would take Wakey's pack over Leeds' (except Leeds fans of course). Throw in a few backs with pace to burn and if they don't finish comfortably in the 8 then they've seriously underperformed. If everyone on here is correct and the whipping boys are Salford and London then they basically need to finish above 2 other teams. Shouldn't be too much of a problem IMO. Don't think HKR will be in the mix either... yes they've strengthened but in all honesty they were way short of a top 8 team last year.'"
point 1 wow, we only one because a player cheated allegadly, well if wakey had been given a try against us, and catalans had not spent an entire second half conning the ref, and if the ref had given us a penalty against wigan from the head shot on Ash handley, then we never would have been in the middle 8's, if thats the game we are playing, but we where in the middle 8's and only 7 games so nobody was ever going to be 6-8 points clear as it was not ever possible. So no we were not lucky and yes we were never in the MPG zone. but you keep scaping the barrel.
secondly only wakey fans (mostly) do not think Leeds have strengthened well, yes we need a few more and a few will go for next season, but we still have strengthen very well and some big signings that maybe only 2-3 other clubs would be able to pull off. i and most Leeds fans will be happy with a 4-6 place finish next year, anything else a bonus.
point 3 Well we will see wont we, but i cannot see wakey finishing anywhere near top 4 and may scrape into top 8 but are not a dead cert for top 8 like the original poster said.

Just wanted to clarify that I'm NOT A WAKEY FAN. I'm a Salford fan chief and having taken another look at your squad yesterday I think there's more chance Salford winning the GF than Leeds getting anywhere near that top 4! That squad is bang average for a club the size of Leeds and I'd be surprised if you made the top 6. I'm happy to be proved wrong though.

Leeds will be in top 6 at least, Furner is a good coach, and one thing we finally found out last year, leeds success was in spite of McDermot nor because of him.

I know we've got a big strong pack with plenty of depth, but when you listed it out like that & compared to Cas, it's even a bit of a surprise how good it is to me - especially when you can include Titus Gwaze & Yusuf Aydin to that list as well.

I’d take more from Cas from those head to heads. I’m sure Cas could fill a few of those ‘None’ from the academy. I mean one of yours in Baldwinson really has failed to prove himself and will probably be in the Championship eventually and George King I think is a player who sounds like a good signing because he came through at Warrington but I never really rated him and think he’ll end up following in the footsteps of other Warrington academy lads they let go like Chris Riley and Rhys Evans and not do much after leaving Warrington.

Saints pack is soft as was shown in the big games last year when Wire and Cats steam rolled them. To make things worse they've just resigned LMS the soft cheerleader.

Lots of forwards but not cracking ones. I would take most of ours over your guys in a heartbeat looking at that head to head. You have lots of short minute guys or bang average. With the interchanges per game now dropping to 8 I sure hope the fitness of your guys is much better. The 'None' can be made up of more players like Will Maher but I haven't gone that deep.

It's all subjective, the point is it's a good strong pack with plenty of SL experience right down to Baldwinson which is 17 players. Tbf Baldwinson's just turned 24 and hasn't been given many chances because he's been behind better players, whether he develops into a SL week in week out forward who knows. As for King we'll wait and see, but it's not as if he'd be in the starting 17 imo anyway. Also because we're running a reserve side we've needed more SL quality players as well as signing up our youngsters.

Well your bound to say that aren't you. Funnily enough, I'd take more of ours, isn't that strange. I'm sure no matter the side listed against yours you'd have said the same.
If Ashurst, Fifita, and Arona aren't cracking forwards, well you haven't got any either then. Not sure what the standard is for cracking forward is then.
Also, who are all these short minute forwards? I mean you can't be talking about back rowers or hookers because that's daft, so I can only presume props. There's not one that can't & hasn't done less than 50 minutes a game. People seem to have come to this strange conclusion without watching them week in week out that say Fifita doesn't do decent minutes when in fact he plays over 50 minutes plus just about every game, even Pauli who got fitter as the season went on has played full games and can easily do decent minutes.

| OK - here goes.
Wigan have lost a few good players and not really brought in much quality. I reckon this will be a transition year under their interim coach and are already looking to 2020.
Leeds are rebuilding but is it enough?
Hull have an aging pack and have quite a number of players that they should have let go already.
Cas without Gale and not so many good new signings.
On the flip side Wakey still look strong, we've recruited heavily, Catalans recruited well and Saints may have won the league by August.
So (with my obvious red tinted glasses on):
1. Saints
2. Warrington
3. Catalans
4. Wakefield
5. Hull KR
6. Wigan
7. Huddersfield
8. Leeds
9. Castleford
10. Hull FC
11. Salford
12. London

Whenever we have played you over the last few years your forwards have bottled it. Couple of big powerful runs but they hide in the back. You have a few good ones yeh but not enough for me. Your backs are very decent and that's what Wakey rely on.
