| Shaun Wane has a reputation of a 'my way or the highway' approach. Worked well with lads who he brought through the system. Might be a bit of culture shock for more established players. That might be what Leeds need though.

| Hate to say it but Demetriou would be inspired. Shame as he was always my back up for Trinity if CC went pear shaped.

| Can't see anyone currently in demand down under coming over to coach at a club who booted out their last coach after only 14 games.
I know Demetriou has been over here before but he's hot property in the NRL so I can't see it.
Somebody like Flanagan might be more likely given that he's blacklisted in the NRL currently.

| Megan Barnard, the incredibly sexy young blonde presenter on "NRL Tonight," on the Fox rugby league TV channel in Australia, has noted the linking of former Cronulla Sharks Grand Final winning coach Shane Flanagan with Leeds.
Note that this is not Angela Powers talking. It is Megan Barnard.

| Understand from my man in Leeds that Furner is taking legal advice.
The rumour he’s told me is that Leeds have a british coach lined up but they haven’t agreed the compensation with his current employers. It’s another Yorkshire club but it’s not Darryl Powell.

Yeah I don’t really know what he’s hoping for claiming unfair dismissal. Whilst people can say it’s harsh theirs nothing in it legally that he can claim unfair dismissal surely. Sports is a results based business at the end of the day and it wasn’t like his results were good. Hell you could have 30/40 cases a season in English football if that was the case.

That would all depend on the terms of his contract.
You have to say that, given the squad that he inherited and having lost their best few players from last season, offset by the recruitment of Hurrell etc, your pack is still woefully inadequate and regardless of whether he may or may not have ruffled a few feathers, until Leeds recruit 2 or 3 decent prop forwards, there will be no change to your current predicament.
Young Dwyer and Hurrell seem to be the only 2 players that offer any real threat.
Even Pareclel, who was though to be pretty decent, seems to offer very little, although it's hard to operate behind a decent pack.
Who was in charge of the close season recruitment and shedding of players because, quite frankly, it is they who should be leaving and not a bloke who has been in charge for a dozen games.

WRT recruitment what can you realistically expect to do in the off season and first several weeks of the season? Quality players have contracts elsewhere and highly unlikely clubs are going to let their better players go at that time. We’ve actually allegedly made big bids for both Connor and Trueman amongst others but they were turned down, the former apparently for £500k....if clubs are understandably not selling at this time of the year then what can Leeds do. Likewise if other clubs aren’t interested in or don’t have the cap or quota space to sign any of the players we want rid of right now then again what can you do? Sinfield and Furner arrived too late in 2018 to make sizeable realistic changes for the 2019 squad. If the squad at the start of 2020 isn’t noticeably different then fair enough but was always far fetched to change it too much for this season, it seems Furner didn’t have the patience for that.
We’ve underspent in the squad for several years, you don’t fix that in several months.

Not Kear but keep going.
Basically it may or may not be the coach another West Yorkshire team who are punching well above their weight.
Behind the scenes he may or may not be becoming increasingly frustrated as his star player - Fajita - may or may not be pushing for a release to play with his brother at Cronulla sharks with no replacement sought.

See your still as bitter as ever bullyboy, Fajita as he is fondly known as has just signed a three year extension at your old club, and there's more likelyhood of the other Fajita ![Rolling Eyes icon_rolleyes.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_rolleyes.gif) joining Wakey, as for your thinly disguised reference regarding Chester going to Leeds, he's already shown that he's more interested in the players than new stands.
Poor even by your standards 2/10.

we all know he means Chester, and that's not going to happen its pure stirring and not based on facts, doubt Chester is on Leeds radar or Leeds on his at this moment, or not more of a passing interest to either party. leeds will go for Marshall and take a punt or go for a bigger NRl proven coach and stick with agar and Chev Walker for rest of year. readings Agars interview he says he was happy doing the job he was doing but as the most experienced he felt it was not right to let chev do the job and have to cope with the pressure just yet, so expect it the be Agar guiding hand with chev walker being almost equal coach for now.

Chester would be mad to take IMO, he is gaining a good reputation at Wakefield and rightly so, Taking over Leeds now could actually be really detrimental to his career. Having read up on Him Flanagan would be perfect, tons of experience, known for building tough no compromising teams, apparently has a great eye for spotting talent and good at brining young players through.
Plus he's got absolutely nothing to lose as he isn't getting an NRL gig anytime soon.

I'm a big bopper fan but we all know that Dave wouldn't get a decent run in the NRL and that includes Dave himself. He's a star herein the NR he'd just be the less able brother of an ever ageing Andrew. ![Rolling Eyes icon_rolleyes.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_rolleyes.gif)

yeah probably Flanagan seems a good fit. agree with Chester probably happy doing what he is doing at wakey and is probably not under a lot of pressure, so and why move to the pressure cooker of a club like Leeds at this stage when all is rosey at Wakefield, but he may fancy the challenge and resources at a much bigger club, after all he can only take Wakefield so far and the chance to coach a huge club may be a draw for him. (Que wakey fans steaming in being all defensive and making out they are a big hitter now and Leeds are not a big club anymore after 11/2 bad seasons)

I'm sure at some point in the future Chester would fancy it but not yet. For starters he hasn't come close to winning anything, which means all he is at the moment is promising. Not really what Leeds want or need and gives him very little authority.
If he were to take Wakefield to a CCup final for example and win it well that would put a different complexion on things because he'd be a winner.

If we were where we were at say 2003 when Tony Smith took over I could see someone like Chester working... but we are in a totally different situation at the moment.
