The best prop I have ever seen play the game too
I remember him as a massive man (stood next to him when he left the field after an international against France) so I checked out Wikipedia to see how big he was compared to Sam Burgess and James Graham... according to that great source of information:
Sam Burgess – 6ft 5in & 17st 7lbs
James Graham – 6ft 2in & 16st 9lbs
Kevin Ward – 5ft 11in & 16st 1lb
Either rugby league players have got a lot bigger in the last 15 years or Wikipedia is full of cr@p again... I wonder which?

| Is Sam Burgess 6'5? Thought Crabtree would be around that, not Sam. On Kevin Ward, what's that book like? MIght be worth a look, the bloke was a bit before my time but from what I hear, a real tough lad.

| The Aussies now that they are the far superior team but they still insist stacking everything even more in their favour and on everything being on their terms.
Australian Kangaroos = the Floyd Mayweather of international RL.

I would of thought Wardy was over 6ft,and I would say he weighed at least 17st.

Stats for pro RL players are notoriously invented. I recall how at one point Sky would put the stats up of individual players pre-match or when they scored a try. I often found myself scratching my head, having stood next to some of them when they were described as 6'1 and yet I clearly remembered looking down on them. I think the point when I realised it was all completely made up was when some titchy scrum-half who I knew to be 5'4" in real life was listed as 5'10.
Wardy's stats sound right to me, though. He was slightly shorter than I am, but about 3 stone heavier. Up close, he was a massive bull of a man. The last of the old school props.

| Massive game for the tournament and Int Rl tomorrow. If by some miracle England win then it sets up the final round of the 4nations as an absolute cracker:
Eng trying to get more than 46 points difference v PNG
NZ trying to knock Oz out of the tournament
Oz sudden death or there out
All wishful thinking I fear but it would be massive shot in the arm for Int RL if Oz lose tomorrow.

Not too wishful for me – the Kiwi team in this 4 Nations is a better outfit than the Aussies. Australia has three absolutely top class players walking onto the field tomorrow in Slater, Lockyer and Smith, but the rest are good players but compared to Kangaroo teams of the past distinctly average
Australia may win tomorrow but England has a decent chance

I disagree - I think it will be a close game with England a good chance to win
If I am wrong, I will be big enough to come on here and say so (or I could change user name and slag England off, I haven't decided yet!)

| I've been saying for years. To beat the Aussies, we need to start a punch-up early doors. Its worked in the past, and now the Aussies are as good as admitting that they're relying on the ref to stop this happening.
Why? Can't they sort it themselves? Soft shiites.

A good bit of biff at the start I think would take them out of their rhythm
The last thing we need is someone doing "a Morley" though.

We cant turn the clock back god knows how many years and expect to win. We struggle defending the space on the field with 13 of our lads on it. To have to defend with less than 13 is asking for a walloping. And are we that desperate to have to resort to these tactics instead of realying on good hard forward play with the backs finishing off the job??? Blame the ref.......rule interpretations and this. We are struggling badly.

| We don't need to start punch ups. If we're looking to go down that route then we'll need to wind up the Aussies so that they are the ones who start looking to start fights rather than play RL.

We WILL win today trust me we're good at the sort of game that your lot seem to be wanting to play.
Convicts not as good as they used to be at RL or Cricket and we will complete the double of you this year.
