| What a prat you are. Jordan cox, Scott Taylor, Sam latus, Rich beaumont, Louis sheriff, Kris Welham, Craig Hall, Liam Watts. All British and young lads all from Hull (apart from Watts) in the first team for next year. Though you wouldn't know because of your ignorance at what's happening at Hkr! Once again, PRAT!!!!

There's an obvious balance needed to a whole squad, but Morrison, Lauititi, Southern, Wilkes & possibly Fozzard signed up, and you let young potentially good English player leave in favour of ageing past it players
You have made a couple of good signings Fox & Ellis come to mind, Gledhill reminds me a lot of Ryan Boyle, in that he was let go before he reached his potential in favour of ageing players, think it was in favour of Mitchell Sargent,
Now Cas are lacking at prop and have loaned in the likes of Parker

We're still bringing academy players through. Who's the last Academy player you brought through apart form Houghton about 3 years ago.
We shall see whether Lulia & Purtell are poor signings when they pull on the shirt.

| You can't seriously be defending the number of non-British players at HKR.
Next year there will be Webster, Green, Dobson, Clinton, Newton, Galea, Vella, O'Hara and Taulapapa. Although Lovegrove and Fisher are eligeble for Scotland, they are also Australian trained.
The other trouble is that most of these "home grown/Hull-born" names will only feature in the first team when others are injured.
I'm not one for points-scoring and "my dad's bigger that your dad" arguments but as you raised the point Castleford's non-British players for next year will be Nick Youngquest, Rangi Chase and Ryan McGoldrick (maybe Isa if he is given a new deal), considerabely less than HKR.
And a quick check seems to suggest that we have more home-grown players who have played in the first team this year that HKR.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but how are these two "home grown". Liam Watts made his SL debut for Castleford. Lovegrove played for St George until 2007.
Can Castleford do better?
Arundel
Owen
Orr
Huby
Ferres (I think)
Walker
Milner
Massey
Thompson
Holmes
Davies
Clarke
Eden.
All played SL this year, most of them regularly. So yes.

No, the point is not the number of "homegrown/Hull-born" in the squad but the number of non-British players who stop most of them getting into the team!
And I don't see how "Hull born" is a particular advantage, Wakefield wouldn't be able to claim Castleford/Featherstone products as their own, so I'm not quite sure why KR should take credit for players developed elsewhere just because they were born in Hull?

Liam Watts came to Rovers aged 16 Lovegrove 19 and are both registered with the RFL as homegrown players. We was always going to struggle in developing our own players for a couple of years but people only comment on the aspects of overseas players and not the young kids that are coming through our youth setup.

| Lovegrove came to Craven Park mid way through the 2007 season when he was 20. He got dispensation to be classed as home grown due to the rules changing in that year. His mother is English and he is proud to call himself English too.
I believe Liam Watts is classed as home grown too for similar reasons due to his age when he made his Rovers debut.
Technicalities they may be but Easty was just telling you the players classifications with the RFL.
Also our overseas contingent will be reducing as these youngsters come through but they need a couple more years before we can put the pressure on them 100%.

This is what you should be saying. Simply listing players who have barely played in the first team does not show that HKR are developing local talent.
My worry is that if HKR continue to sign overseas players, the youngsters will never get the opportunity.

And indeed our "home grown" players have played many, many more 1st team games than the HKR "home-grown" players who are simply there to make up the numbers in training and for the purposes of the franchise application.
Maybe we should also mention the Castleford "home grown" players playing for other teams - Shenton, Westerman, Godwin, Boyle (who seems to have gone well at Salford this year), Lynch. Any more?
