| Quote ="nick hkr"I know of plenty of Rovers fans that thought the same about the Boulevard though, they wouldn't go not because of the state of the place but because it was Hull FC's home. Now these same people go to the KC, it just doesnt feel, look or smell like Hull FC's home. This is why I am happy to stay at Craven Park, it feels like home and not just a rented accomodation that anyone is allowed to use as long as they pay for it.
The KC is a bit like a high class hooker, she is still a prostitute that anyone can pay to use, whereas Craven Park is like the fat girl you decide to marry because nobody else will have you and you feel like it's time to settle down and have kids! It'll never be the most stunning stadium but she's going on a diet having a bit of plastic surgery and she'll look alright but at the end of the day she is still ours and us red and whites love her!!!'"
Perhaps you ought to go away and check some facts about the KC and the user agreements that govern who can and can't play there. Probably would have been better to do that before posting twaddle that makes you look like an idiot, mind. ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif)

The KC user agreement is not for general reading, some of us have had the contents of it relayed or had chance to have a little look at it. Kosh is quite correct in that the two main stadium users (City and FC ) have the right of veto on anyone else using it. KR where offered the chance to use the KC they declined so thats the end of that.
I may be mistaken, but I thought KR rented Craven Park from the "GAIN GROUP"

a heck of alot! Even since this picture the East stand (stand on Right) has been extended right down to the North stand and by April time will have been extended again to fill the length of the pitch. You can see how the pitch width has been extended to bring the sidelines much closer to the stands. The Stand directly in middle of this pic will be moved to the big space closest and the new development and stand built where the Nth stand currently sits.
Capacity will be up around 12,500 with around 5000 standing and 7500 seats. Not bad effort in less than 8 years!

Some?!
Even I've got a pretty full and fair idea of its contents and I'm pretty far out of the loop on most things. As the US state department and staff at Rovers' shop have recently found, secrets shared soon cease to be secrets.
Surely nobody thinks that the veto would ever have been exercised, as Hull fans were always so quick to mention Rovers opportunity to play there when help was being sought to make improvements at CP.
Quote ="Ian P"I may be mistaken, but I thought KR rented Craven Park from the "GAIN GROUP"'"
He did say 'feels like'. I like the KC - slightly more than my FC supporting friends who'd prefer what they call a 'real rugby ground', I suspect. Hopefully, the improvements at CP will give us a little of what you have got without costing the homely feeling.

| Its going to be the big enterprise office building that will wrap around the Northern end of the ground. It will be good as it will fill in the gaps between the East and West stands and the new north stand giving more protection and a more "finished off" look. I would imagine at ground level it will be the entrance turnstyles to that part of the ground.
There's been a couple of diff "artists impressions" of what it will look like.

| They could have picked a better 'in play' photo for the pitch, Roby busting a Rovers tackle and we're in our away shirts!
Prefer the latest artist impressions compared with the last lot that where done.

| Apparantly the RFL have tried to throw a spanner into the works of Widnes' SL bid. They've drafted in a new rule that states any club applying from outside SL must have a stadium with a capacity of at least 14,000. Widnes have moved swiftly to counteract this and produced the following artist impression that shows the re-developed stadium.
The move by Widnes is rumoured to put their stadium development plans ahead of both Castleford and Wakefields stadia plans.

that north stand is going to look good, shame its not for 5000 capacity
12,400 is still a bit small but im sure the club will get it up to 15,000 or more over time

| yeh could have been a bit bigger but still 12,400 (with 11,200 of that being under cover) will be sufficient for the next few years. There is still room to expand the main West stand at each end and eventually replace the South temp stand with another full stand which could in theory take capacity to 17,000+ should we ever need it. Hats off to the HKR management, the ground will be unrecognisable from the 1/2 built tip that I frequented for many years.

As a Hull fan, I hope it works out well for you. It will look a bit of an odd ground, but I suppose that's what gives them a bit of character!
Just the South Stand and the South-West corner to go after this then I guess. No need to rush that I guess. Might as well see how the new capacity holds out for a while.
Where have you gotten the 17,000 capacity from, by the way?

| basically the 12400 +
Extending Roger Millward stand at both ends = 2000 new seats
New South Stand of 3800 (existing1200+2600 new seats)
Ideally they would come up with a way of wrapping the new Sth stand around to join the East and RM stands with seating all the way around, thus creating a barrier from the freezing Humber wind!
As said this would be way down the track and prob not necessary for another 10 years or so unless we see a massive surge in interest and popularity of RL.

I thought the new North Stand filled that part of the RM Stand as well?

not sure yet, looking at the artist impression it looks like the outer building will wrap around but may leave a gap between the two stands which presumably could be filled by extending the RM stand and well into that space.
