What about Beau Scott. He could have seen it coming but decided to smash Lockyer once the ball had gone, i'd say he was as much at fault as anyone.

He's not captain material, mostly because of his poor discipline. But really, who else is there???

In that team you would have to go with Gasnier.

he's probably the closest one, I agree.
But the fact he defected to yawnion is a big factor I think, and I personally agree with not appointing him on this basis.

I cant see Gasnier playing based on that performance.
I think Jamal has to play along with Hayne at full back.

Scott had to take the ball carrier - it was Gallen's job to fill the gap IMO he had his hands on Slater but could not stop him

Really?
It's called League in the papers over here and Rugby League in the UK. A quick gander at the aussie press sites show NRL which bounced me to League HQ (SMH.COM.AU) or The Australian has no mention of a seperate section...but it does have one for Cycling, football and something called Rugby Union....the Western Australian has no section eithe, but does have Cricket, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Golf, Motorsport and Racing. I did find a mantion of SoO in the More Sport section......The Courier like the SMH has an NRL button that takes me to League Central..........
...who is thei "we' you speak of? Can't be the Autralian we, as your papers seem to disagree

no.
Rugby is a generic word that refers to both Rugby League and union...despite what some of the union guys think.

Just watching the 1st half of the Dogtits game, I reckon Idris really wants to be selected for origin 2

er....re-read what I posted.
The troll called it "Rugby".......unless you live in Eatern Australia or along the M62, that generic term refers to Union. I actually refer to the game I follow as Rugby League, stressing the League part......it's even on my CV as Rugby League.

No it doesnt...despite the best efforts of the unionites to rewrite history. Btw, neither I nor the ppl who I watched Wednesdays game with live in the areas you mentioned...

to be fair joe, it depends where you come from, not live in.
If you said Rugby in the South of England, we'd think you'd mean Union.
If you're from Bjørkshire and Lancashire, you're more likely to think of it as League.
And if you say football??? I'll leave it there.

Humbly disagree...in my experience, having lived outside the 'Heartlands' since 1994 and despite claims from the self styled 'governing body of the game of rugby union in England', the most common reaction to a statement of I play/ watch/ support Rugby is......which one.
Its only the unionites who get hot and botherd over the use of the word Rugby...Im surprised our friends in the SH dont make more use of it

Where I come from (London), if you said Rugby, we'd think you meant Union.
Like if you went to Melbourne and said I'm going to watch the footy, they think you'd mean Aussie Rules. If you said it in Sydney, they'd think RL.
But, in "your"experience" it's different apparently. So how can we argue? Trivial discussion again, and another waste of typing.
