Why is it that when people take a picture of their shirts laid on the floor, they always have a beige/ brown floor?

the Saints 2004 shirts were absolutely terrible interms of manufacturing quality, but I didn't mind the design, for me, the 2001 away shirt was the worst I've seen.

It was 1997, made by Mizuno (the KooGa of their day when recalling that Saints home shirt) and yes I do own said jester kit (though it's currently been stolen by Ody). For those who don't know it, it was similar to the Brisbane kit featured earlier in the thread which a white background, red and blue diamonds and a green sponsor (Asda) with blue sleeves.

It was truly dreadful! Why did Ody steal it from you? Why didn't he steal a nice Leigh top?

I said we should have brought it back as a tongue in cheek 3rd kit for when we play a team that wears red, white, grey and purple. I'd have bought one! Carlisle Utd did it last year with their 'deckchair kit' and all the fans bought it.

Couple of shockers on Ebay at the minute, particularly Cas - some sort of turqoise, white and purple effort?!

That was one of the conditions that the manufacturer insisted upon before that shirt went into production.

Under no circumstances must their name be shown anywhere on the garment as it would lose them virtually every other shirt contract (until Widnes are looking for someone to make them another multicoloured glaucoma inducing one)

Disagree with all apart from the last 2. I think the failed traditional one of a few years back, where the sponsor's name just peeled off.

On a slight side note theres an article on the YEP ste about complaints from customers of the Tigers about their sponsors name just being an iron on transfer over the 'old' one.

That's funny. Because those sort of American college jackets are coming into fashion in England. Especially in the cities where you get alot of 'modern' types. (you know the type, ridiculous hair cuts and glasses when they have perfect eye sight)

Would be the perfect time to bring those back. Though I'm not sure how well they'd sell in Warrington, that place is like the 1950s still.

You'd be surprised how many American males collect that sort of clothing, along with fitted caps and sneakers. If al clubs started selling those jackets it would be a matter of time before one popped up on an MTV rap video. I guarantee it

I always thought the blue and green hooped kit took the biscuit!!!!

Mind you it was given free, so back in the day when the club was in the bottom reaches, it was greatfully received.

I don't want to be pedantic here (well ok maybe I do a little bit) but in the background it says 'Putting the [uROAR [/uinto the Cougars'

Yet Cougars can't actually 'roar'. The only big cats capable of 'roaring' are lions, Tigers, Jaguars and Leopards. Cougars make a lot of noise but they are more closely related to domesticated cats than lions and tigers etc and therefore can only purr, hiss or scream.

I'm not sure "putting the purr into the Cougars" has the same desired effect!

God knows what shirt we'd have had a few years if Nick Halafihi had got his way which was (allegedly) to rename us Hull Kingston Raiders.

For London in all its iterations, I'd have to go back to 82/83 when they produced an away shirt in an untasteful shade of pink. It only lasted a couple of games before disappearing as 'the players didn't seem keen on it'.

I just didn't like any of them, the main reason being that the material was terrible and obviously most of them are vile looking
