Yes that is what the RL want, but other than Catalans the Crusaders and to an extent Harlequins are hardly blueprints for advocating letting more expansion teams in at the expense of heartlands clubs.

The RL subscriptions for Sky dont rest on having a welsh team in SL, and anyone who says they do please show me some evidence.

If Sky are so keen to dictate such clubs stay in, then they should increase the TV moneys so that we can move to a 15 team league with everyone still getting the same share of the pot

The RFL have been involved all along and knew on October the 20th that a new company Welsh Crusaders Ltd had already been set up. They already have the statements they will make next week under lock and key in Nigel Woods fridge

but it doesn't matter how pointless these clubs are to the rest of us does it?
if the rfl and certain chairmen in SLE think they can get more money from TV and other advertising revenues because these clubs are in the league, then in my opinion they wont hesitate in dumping at least five northern club.

But based on Crusaders how is expansion going to make the remaining SL clubs more money. It would cost more in travel and accommodation and you would get less away fans. I doubt sky would stump up so much more to cover those kind of losses

Which is why I so desperatley want the clubs who will never be an option to get their act together and start to sort out their future themselves , because the RFL will never help them

BSkyB, whilst keen to still get little black dishes on as many houses as possible, have a much bigger agenda. Subscriptions to Sky Sports....purely because RL is on....minimal in the greater scheme of things.
What BSkyB are interested in though, is the audience....both now and in the future. Do you really think they invented the latest darts league to sell dishes

The RFL need to protect the golden goose that is BSkyB.....so they will pander to its needs. Without it.......4 or 5 semi pro teams from the M62 playing other towns from the M62.....in front of a crowd that would make Harlequins RL look like Man Utd.....no TV apart from the usual stereotypical b0ll0x dished up by the BBC yearly for the CC..........

its not about the crusaders,its not about london,its not about catalan,its about expanding the bounderies of the sport.
i'll ask you two questions,what does the guinness premier league get off sky for that league and what does the RFU get for that f of a european comp were 90% of clubs in it are not worth a ?.
i'm guessing its a lot more than the rfl/sle get for there comp.
away support and travel costs are small fry mate when it come to other potential revenue streams

but it wont happen will it? there are to many clubs happy with the wad of cash they get off the rfl and then theres the other clubs who keep stretching out trying to reach the carrot thats always being dangled in front of them.

Rugby League is a Business in the UK and those employed rightly or wrongly to administer and run that business will do what they see fit to make it work....and become MORE PROFITABLE than they already have made it over the last 15 years.......
Complaining about the way they run the Buiness is like moaning about the fact that TESCO don't stock a product you want.......but you still shopping in TESCO.

2 welsh clubs are essential imho, 2 french clubs are. Both areas have history in RL and produce players we need to attract to expand, but dont kill the roots along the way.
