As far as I can tell the OP put up attendance numbers. There were a few comments along the lines of 'pathetic'. I'd assume that was pretty minor on the scale of abuse and vitriol, but if it's not acceptable, then why not just warn those posters to keep their comments respectful rather than lock a thread about attendances? Attendances are pretty important, and certainly worthy of discussion, but you can pretty much guarantee that if anyone posts anything (especially if the figures are negative, though to a lesser extent you'll get the same if they're positive) the thread will provoke heated responses. Surely better to deal with those rather than the topic itself, otherwise there'll be no way to discuss attendances. As I say, if the mere existence of a discussion annoys people, they don't have to read it.

| We need an attendance thread.
I'm just not sure i can get through the season without listening to the excuses for why attendances are down'or UP, as the case may be.

| Quote ="William Eve"The SL attendance thread for 2014 was locked within the hour after I'd posted it last Friday, so I've taken that message on-board and decided not to bother. There are way too many insecure fans of heavily discounted Super League on this forum who were clearly traumatised by last season's attendance thread and the 10.4% nosedive. Like a religious sect, they cannot handle the truth. One particular individual was so traumatised by last season's attendance thread, he contributed 300+ of his own posts to it and now claims to have blocked me

I don’t think you should chuck in the towel, I’m interested to see how things go this year.
The country is supposed to be on the up, and there are number of teams who “in theory” should be posting higher attendances.
Salford are the obvious one, but it’ll be interesting to see how London go in their new ground, Cas seem to be on the up & HKR have their new stand.
Put it this way, the outcome of the attendance figures are far more unpredictable than the outcome of the comp.

Surely not. A return to promotion and relegation should surely see all attendances put 10-15% on, the only reason people don’t go apparently, is that they are bored with games that dont mean anything. Wakefield possibly being relegated should see loads more come attend their late season games.
Perhaps certain posters would like to put their money where their mouth is. Now franchising has gone we have an easy comparison. Surely their belief that franchising and the lack of relegation, nothing to play for blah blah blah=low attendances, means they are confident that 2014's return to P+R will see record attendances. It Surely would have to beat 2012's records, after all they were set during franchising. Perhaps another donation to St Gemmas hospice is on the cards?

Sorry old lad, I know its not in the rule book and I know that it would have caused my team to get relegated but, something like this should be put in place for the future, that is unless you want it to be applied retrospectively

With the obvious exception of KR and Salford, plus a small change at St Helens, I cant see too many others improving.
Wakefield & Bradford will drop and with Wakey's current crowd restrictions, this will probably mean an overall drop.
Having said that, this season could see the Giants crowds improve, there certainly seems to be a positive vibe around the place.
I don't think Billy Eve turning up at Headingley will be noticed, unless you're lucky enough to have him standing next to you (with his camera and calculator to hand )

| I appreciate the support for another SL attendance thread this year. However, the moderation process has delivered it's verdict by locking it. I've been around these forums long enough to know when to take the hint.

| Quote ="gutterfax"London Broncos are offering £30 family tickets (2 adults/2 kids) to the first 2 games at the Hive....which would normally cost £49 if you were watching Barnet FC and I believe if purchased individually, would set you back £65, so between a 40% and 55% discounted offer straight away.'"
I received a letter in the post today from the Leeds Rhinos offering me a fiver off the price of a ticket to their opening game of the SL season against Warrington. Their marketing department have obviously tuned into the RLWC ticket sales database. Their letter began with a message from Kevin Sinfield - "We hope you enjoyed watching the 2013 RLWC at Headingley Carnegie Stadium... biggest personalities... Sonny Bill Williams... etc... " prior to offering a discounted code for a discounted ticket followed by offers to become a gold/silver/bronze/flexi season ticket holder.
This is an interesting development because Leeds don't usually offer discounted tickets for one-off games. They haven't needed to with attendances remaining fairly solid over the last decade and ranging between 14k and 17k on average.

By enhanced do you mean longer, on more money or both? Longer is in the articles linked but do you have any evidence for the more money bit?
While you're at it could you link to the announcement of which creditors would be 'shafted'?

If you think Gale has signed a longer contract with no increase in payments so be it. I could not care less.
Whether you like it or not creditors of the bulls are waiting for payments and have no guarantee of being paid what they are owed. This is a dreadful way to treat people. So I say shafted. Maybe to some in Bradford such treatment is normal.

Except shafted in this context can only mean that they will not get what they are owed.
1) There are (as far as we know) two prospective buyers of the club. Neither party has either confirmed or denied the extent to which they will pay existing creditors.
2) We do not in any case know which party will be successful, though we do know that the party which most honours those debts with creditors will be successful.
3) We do know that the extent to which creditors are not paid has a significant effect on the number of points deducted in this a relegation season.
So you can say shafted and pretend it's not a synonym for wild speculation which you cannot backup but choose to believe anyway, but that would be silly. Not that that makes you stick out like a sore thumb or anything.
