This entire story has been created by a single post from Mark Wilson, who started a Twitter post just before the weekend with "It is my understanding that .... " Not one person, neither club, nor the player himself has said anything to confirm or deny or explain the situation. And Caton-Brown was apparently with the Wolfpack at the Shay today.

Nevertheless, the entire tinfoil brigade is out hurling accusations at Toronto in advance of anything beyond one man's "understanding". Crumbs, don't you folk have better things to do.

Pretty standard for sports clubs to leak things to local journalists all the time. Puts more pressure on the RFL to actually do something about it if the public know about it.

Get a grip, why should this info not be in the public domain? There should be no hiding when a club fails to pay an AGREED transfer fee.

As for the good name of the TWP, if Ryan Bailey is able to publically shame you then it must be bad.

Why should it be in the public domain? How many businesses operate outside agreed credit terms? Should that always be leaked on twitter? There are a magnitude of reasons something doesn’t get paid when agreed. Are you privy to the reasons? Thought not. As I said, only one reason it was done. Anyone with an iota of business sense would seek legal advice, rather than get journalists involved. That’s about Wakefield’s level. You wouldn’t find leneghan or McManus doing something like that as they know how to run a business and a brand

It's an issue of public domain/right/wrong/credit...it's a case of TO failing to meet the RFL Operating Rules, by paying a fee prior to a transfer being sanctioned.

If a club has to go to the RFL to apply for one of their former players registrations to be cancelled then the RL community should be aware no? In this case the transfer fee was under £10k and clearly not payable in instalments. In the circumstance I highly doubt any other club would have the cheek to pay outside the agreed terms. Sounds like they were trying it on tbh, suffered an injury or two so decided to pay what they owed. Hardly worth seeking legal advice considering the amount involved.

So Carter got the journalist involved did he, you can prove tha can you? It’s not just a case of a journalist doing what errr journalist do and uncovering a story?

Most likely leak would be MCB’s agent or is that too obvious for you?
