Fights happen week in week out on the field (in front of 80,000 in Origin). Maybe you can drop us a line on friday night if Sheffield beat London or next saturday if freefallling Hull beat catalan.'" | I was there and saw nothing that resembled a fight between Rangi and Mason. And it was Jordan Tansey who threw the intercept pass.
It's like the olden days when you went to work on a Monday morning and the bloke who'd only read the 'green final' thought he knew more about the game you'd been to. Now, they're just keyboard warriors.

Also you saying 'week in and week out' was rather a strange comment to make unless you were trying to make a point about THIS situation.
If it was just pushing why not just say so in your original reply?

| A little pushing and shoving between team mates that was it.
But given it happened at a club which could be replaced by his beloved Toulouse in the near future Jean (AKA Barry) is engaging in some pathetic $hit stirring.

| Talk about inaccuracy and over-reaction!
On the play before the interception pass (which was made by Tansey and not Chase), Mason had run a really badly timed run for Rangi (not for the first time). Rangi was already having a go at him before the interception pass was given. As the try was been scored, Rangi and Mason were still having words with each other and this continued on their way back to Cas' try line. They player's didn't even touch each other.
What is more worrying is that when Powell then took Mason off it appeared that Mason decided he would not take any further part in the game, storming off down the tunnel and calling Rangi every name under the sun. Nathan Massey then went to get him back and he sat on the bench looking like an arrogant teenager.

| I think this thread lost all credibility when he said that Chase threw the intercept ball, When in fact it was Tansey.
Poor effort.
All that happened was a disagreement, Embarassing to see, Mason was removed from the field and hopefully won't wear the shirt again, He was off at the end of the year. So its not a big deal.

Really you are revealling what happened???
Was there no radio reports of this at the time. Have we had black hawk helicopter, extrodanarily- rendering the crowd from the UK.
The person who needs the biggest talking to is LMS. Acting as peace maker. Whose side does he think he's on????
Let em slog it out.
it's a fight a punch up, it happens. No one is actually concerned that this is the spark to the downfall of the Western World.

| After reading all the comments I have decided to rename the thread slightly. I have dropped "Cas in decay?" and replaced it with "Cas crisis?" "Decay" may have been the wrong word to choose so I apologise for that.
However I think when two team mates get involved in a physical altercation then there might be some kind of crisis at the club.
The other example I had cited from the Sydney Roosters a few years ago, when Craig Fitzgibbon (later a stalwart at Hull FC) got into an abusive swearing confrontation with Brett Finch (later a stalwart at Wigan) was symptomatic of a crisis at that NRL club.
This incident at Cas was far worse because some Cas players rushed in to separate Rangi Chase and Keith Mason.
Note that I still put this as a question, not as an assertion. People were and are free to answer the question in any way they want. But I think that the incident was too serious to be ignored, the way the BBC ignored it.

No they didn't, they were behind their own try line after the interception had been scored.

| This thread lost all credibility from the first post but the wild assertions since then made by Jean are even more amusing.
Chase did not throw the interception.
There was no fighting, no violence or punches thrown.
No Castleford players rushed in.
Only one Saints player was involved in keeping both apart as words were exchanged.
It was merely frustration. These are the facts Jean. Now go post something constructive and please, please, for the sanity of all humanity, stop boring us with made up tosh you DID NOT SEE.

Rugby league in crisis? Does marshall law need to be implemented at games?

I am not surprised give the shocking condition of the stadium at Belle Vue.
However there were no players from the same team exchanging blows or simply confronting each other head to head. So that suggests that the ground is the problem, and some Widnes fans, but not the club.
