At least one stand unreserved at non England, non semi and Final games would have been good too, some like the flexibility of turning up and sitting with mates who have booked seperately. Also usually helps the atmosphere at people get there early to get a good seat.

They seem to have dropped prices again for the Emirates semi, blocks in the upper tier behind the goal now being cat E rather than cat D

I think they've just split the blocks, those at the front are still the higher bracket, the ones right at the back are the lower ones. The maps are for guidance rather than being 100% and it's hard (unless you've been watching day to day) to tell if this has changed or was always like that.

We do know they have been tinkering with prices though, albeit not half as much as I would have liked.

Price drops make me feel silly for buying in advance, such poor organisation.

When I bought my tickets for the semi about a year and a half ago I was told we couldn't select a section in the ground, and I have been allocated seats somewhere I don't particularly want to sit, right now I can go on the website and buy 4 tickets in the block I prefer.

I think the message I am being sent is "Don't buy tickets in advance!"

I've said this from the start and quite honestly, it just pi$$es people off.

It would have been far better to have a system where you can pick the seats you want (like they have already for the challenge cup final), it was a worry knowing that I'd paid £70 for a ticket for the semi and final and could have been at on row A beneath pitch level at old Trafford!

I agree, it should have been as you suggest, but the ticket allocation has been all about packing the fans opposite to the main TV cameras, so that the crowds don`t appear so poor, for the television audience to see.

I don't think this has happened as the most expensive seats are on the line.

If I was the man in charge I would have release either side of the centre line for £40 (£20 conc) and then gone from there, eventually releasing £15/£20 end closer to the world cup in order to give fans the chance of cheaper standing/seating areas at the ends and not peeing off those who shelled out in the first place for the half way line.

I can`t understand then why for the 1st two games at the HJ, the RFL were charging £40 for spectators to stand in the the South Stand, when tickets for the seating area in the East Stand were cheaper?

I wonder how much they'd have charged for tickets had Wakeys 'ground' been chosen to host games?

Club level seats at the Emirates are £96...cheaper than the category A ones!

We had the same at Newcastle.
Tickets were bough 2 ears ago and looked a whole lot better than where we ended up being allocated.
As far as The Emirates goes, Arsenal (albeit that they have plenty of st holders) would be able to help with how to sell and how to release tickets to optimise both revenue and how to make best use of the ground.
Having said that, as a whole, the WC seems to be going pretty well and there are certainly going to be a couple of superb semi-finals..

Agree with the no option to choose the specific seats on the ticket website and having to be 'allocated a seat'.

Bought tickets for the semi final at ER a few weeks before the start of the tournament and didn't have much choose of which block to choose. Went on the website this week and can choose any block now, absolutely stupid.

I actually miss the 2013 team colouring in the stadium map to show whats sold out, low tech solution but you knew where you where.

so, i gave up yesterday, it would only give me 1 ticket in the 65 quid price bracket. (trying to buy 4)

i then moved up into the 85 quid bracket and it would only give me one block, that was in the £110 brack???

But then it wouldn't let me order. 'unauthorised access' . . it then restricted my access cos i refreshed a couple of times and it thought i was a bot. so i gave up.

tried this morning, it wouldnt let me log in, it then wouldn't allow me to choose the final, and after 20 minutes i finally got on, and it now offered me 85 quid tickets behind the east stand sticks which it wouldn't allow me to do yesterday.



the annoying thing is, its appears to be hosted by ticketmaster, but they try to force you into buying ANY seats in a price range now as well.

Has there been any word on how the semi's are selling?

I think last week they said around 35k at the Emirates and 25k at elland road, but think you have to take anything Dutton and co say about crowds with a pinch of salt now sadly. I'd hope we're aiming for about 50k at the Emirates and 30k at elland road, but maybe with the Emirates it depends on how well the category C B and A tickets sell, as they arent the cheapest. We're in competition with England rugby union too on Saturday with them playing at Twickenham

Anything below 50k at the Emirates would be a disappointment as they got 67k to Wembley in 2013 following a good marketing effort from an agency they used (and I don't recall the tickets being stupidly cheap back then either)

Cheapest tickets were £20 rather than £30. However there were lots and lots of 50% off offers running. Just checked and we got £30s for £15.
