There - is that better?
Even better, how about this post from April 2009:
Quote ="Fully"We could have pushed ahead with plans for a 13,000 capacity stadium, but RW is holding out for a 15,000 stadium.
Whether the problem is to do with extra cost or building problems I don't know, but I'm positive that RW - based on his comments in Rugby League World magazine - will deliver. I'm quietly confident.'"
The only reason for posting this is to highlight the Rose-Tinted colour of those glasses you look through. You buy every comment that RW makes, without question, and yet the record on delivery is zero, zilch, nada. You then make out that anyone who disagrees with what you are saying must be ill-informed - well they can't all be wrong or you'd be kicking off next season, nay - you'd have been in your new stadium for around 5 years now!
ALL of the clubs have found it very difficult to deliver stadia in the good-times of the last few years - in these times of 'austerity' it will be even harder, especially with regard to funding through things like sponsorship, which can be viewed as a bit of a luxury and, like all things, if there is less demand to place sponsorship and more people chasing it, companies will be even more demanding over what they get for what money they pay.
I would suggest you go and do some homework on the state of play - real, not RW version - and, like the rest of us, be judged on what you are actually able to deliver. In the meantime, all of this thread is just a whole pile of hot air and nothing more! ![Confused icon_confused.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_confused.gif)

[I am sure [uyou [/uthink [uyour[/u valuation is extremely realistic. Your vauation appears to be based on no tangible evidence. Indeed when you 'quote' evidence, such as Chesterfield, you are not able to see that it undermines your make believe argument. A person who cannot see the gulf between a 2 year and 10 year deal for £1m will probably find your valuation realistic
P.S. An intelligent person would have known that I was referring to every post containing the name of the ground.
[Would he / she? Perhaps you could show how your random P.S. relates to a specific point I have posted. I know you struggle with specifics and actual facts but it may be helpful.

Not true. I happen to disagree with certain statements RW makes - I just don't choose to air them in public like others and therein lies the difference to other people although if you go back and read the Westerman thread I was pretty disappointed by what was said then. I'm starting to get annoyed about the current delay and if they don't pull their finger out soon, I dread to think what may happen.
And I've never argued differently regarding austerity. Financially businesses everywhere are trying to shed costs and sponsorships is one area where these will suffer. On the other hand, though, businesses will be looking to advertise their brand as much as possible to keep it in the public eye. Now I apologise to deeHell if he was referring to 200k per year, however, the way he wrote it simply looked as if it was 200k total, end of. That is why I disagreed. I don't think 400k is unrealistic - ambitious maybe - but a compromise between the two is fairly reasonable and I would hazard a guess that between those figures is where it may well end up being.
I know what the state of play with ours is and I do believe it is deliverable, however, nothing is ever 100% guaranteed and until then, there will always be problems and issues to overcome in the process.

Well 21 pages about a small part of RL when there are major issues does seem to point out that somehow, some people's sense of priorities are well, "different".
But hey we are the best nation on the planet at RL are we not?

It is an inescapable fact of these forums that any thread with the word 'stadium' in the title will generate at least 15 pages of Cas and Wakey fans indulging in comparative penile studies.

It seems to be different Down Under though. I watched Balmain v Manly at the Leichardt Oval in 1989 and technically the ground was a dump but for some reason i didn't feel that way about my surroundings. We were sat on the hill eating our four 'n twenty pies and it was just a great feeling. Maybe it was the weather, maybe it was because i was on holiday?

| there's a differance between patching up old grounds like we are doing at Craven Park or Dragons, Cronulla, etc are doing, and having a state of the art new stadium with decent seating, views, capacity, facilties etc.
Gold Coast, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle eventually,SFS great grounds. The majority of the rest are semi run down suburban holes with very expensive sticky plasters. Even Parramatta, that is often spoke about as a decent ground, showed its inability to provide fans a decent experience a few weeeks ago. Any conincidence that clubs who play at SFS/ANZ and suburban grounds avg higher attendances at the SFS/ANZ games?

no the suburban grounds arent just patched up.
you need to know what you are talking about
kogarah has had $30 million in it.
like newcastle has been done up kogarah has had massive improvements, so is win stadium
cronulla has a new grandstand meaning it has grandstands on 3 sides
no NRL ground is as bad as craven park.
even brookie is nicer.
SL has cas, wakey, bradford and hull kr in inferior grounds.
its funny you forgot to mention anz stadium, its not as if 2 clubs play there or something

| tbh I don;t rate ANZ for club games, great for finals etc but shocking atmosphere for club games and miles from the pitch due to the low pitch of the seats. when it rains you have to upsticks and move to the back of the stands.

sounds a lot like my experiences of twickenham.
