| Wakey need to be more consistent. They are good enough to make up the top 5 but lose games they should win.

Huddersfield, HKR, Catalans and London will all feature in the relegation battle come September......they've delivered you your 8 Points. Leeds may well also get dragged in and they are where you dropped points......Cas, Wakey, Wire, FC all on the horizon....if you can defeat them and Wigan twice? then I'll have you as top 5, but currently I have you as mid table and safe.
Have to say, you looked well drilled against the French.....complete performance

| Long way to go in the season but Rovers deserved the win.
Their defense was strong and they took their one chance.
Wakefield should have known how to beat a team coming off side all the time to snuff out the attack.
Lessons to learn for both us and the ref.

| Only one side was offside? 2 5th place finishes has really changed a Wakey fans POV it seems? Some of the comments on your board make out you perceive yourselves as SL royalty now. From the outside looking in since winning the MPG and building a big pack things on the pitch have gone better despite ground/crowd/finances.You lost a tight game in artic conditions against a side that has won at yours 5 from last 9 I believe? You would think you had been turned over by Siddal the way some are crying?

The only way to lose to Rovers is to come up with your worst display of the season, shocking referee performance or suffer from delusions of Grandeur...Take your pi ck.

| After 30+ years of watching Wakey, I've been served up some absolute dross on more than one occasion - and yesterday's game was right up there with the worst of it; both sides were dreadful, the ref was having lols and the spectacle was on a par with some pub matches I've seen.
Congratulations to HKR - someone had to get some points, and it was you.

Chris Chester is upset .
https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/ ... -1-9641556
UPSET WAKEFIELD Trinity coach Chris Chester called for video referees to be used at every fixture after his side’s surprise 10-6 home loss to Hull KR. Trinity led three times and did not go behind until the 74th minute when Danny McGuire touched down for the game’s only try.
Just 10 minutes earlier Tom Johnstone appeared to have scored, but referee Tom Grant ruled he was in touch before getting the ball down. Chester felt that should have been given – and was adamant Hull KR knocked on before the ball reached McGuire for his decisive touchdown.
It wasn’t a try,” Chester insisted of the winning score.
“The Tom Johnstone one, he has got the ball down – it’s a perfectly good try.
I have always been a big advocate of video referees at every game. “Those kind of decisions you have got to get right.”
Chester was also upset there was no sin-binning when Rovers conceded a penalty in the set after being placed on a team warning. And he added: “It’s twice we’ve had this referee and he seemed to let anything go today. “I thought the rucks were a disgrace, you could get away with anything. “My blokes probably got away with a few things as well, but just slowing the play down, you could not get any momentum.”
“They’ve come here and played some footy and we were probably guilty of going into our shell a little bit. Hull KR played well, they moved the ball well.”

Not going to comment on the rest of what he said but I have got to agree the ruck was an absolute disgrace, at one point there was a player laid in the play of ball which meant the player could not get up to play the ball, when he took a step forward to play the ball the player was still laid behind him and made no attempt to move, he played the ball into him and the hooker at dummy half had to step over the player to pick the ball up... I am all for letting the game flow but we need consistency in refereeing and slowing the game down in the ruck is just ruining the game.

Agreed it's a complete farce, our game against Saints Thaler gave them a try when everyone could see the player didn't get anywhere near the ball, he sent it up as one but even our video refs couldn't get that one wrong and it ended up a penalty to us.
A none TV game that's given. Either all games are covered or none.

| As I predicted earlier in this thread, the Wakey muppets are now out in force blaming the ref as usual.
Do this lot EVER get beat fair and square? Any loss of theirs is always followed by predictable diatribes at the match official.

Your eyesight is way better than mine so, you will also have seen the knock on in the Crossfield kick for Maguires try then or, was Chester wrong about both decisions ?
Either way Trinity had enough opportunities to win the game and didn't so, only have themselves to blame.
Although Johnstone's finishing was too good for the ref and his assistant at Leeds last week, having been sent up to the VR as no try, only to be given.

He didn't say that, what he means is that if the ref gets it wrong at least there's a chance the error can be rectified by the video ref, unlike when it's not televised and take pot luck.

Couldn't see a knock on though there might have been. As I said, it looks like TJ leaves a footprint on the line though he maybe didn't. I've no idea whether Chester was right about neither, one or both decisions and don't much care. His prerogative if he wants to whinge though it's inevitable how he'll be viewed for doing so when it's on the back of a loss.
