Honestly ,Go to any team in the country , pro ,semi pro ,or amateur there will be similar photos of the lads ( or lasses ) doing daft stuff after a few beers , a good win and a few beers with their mates under their belt .......Carney might have been an idiot , and had he posted the pic himself then fair do's but someone else who he had no control over posting it ..sorry don't get that at all....

That sounds like you were pining for a lost past there. 
He had been given two warnings at the Sharks for his behaviour already, and that was with I think three more years of his contract to go. The guy is 30 isn't he? So not exactly a student doing dumb stuff. What he did was gross and I would imagine not good for the image of the club or the sport. That someone else took the picture was irrelevant. If you're going to drink your own urine in a public loo then you get what you deserve. He's got what he deserved.
I really hope he doesn't end up in Superleague. We have our own plonkers to worry about without inheriting the NRL's. |

His statement (read by Luis Suarez's lawyer) said he stumbled and accidentally pointed his johnson that way so he ed in the vicinity of his mouth, inconveniently at the exact moment his mate was taking a photo.

It's almost official: Todd Carney is finished in the NRL.

He can't get a visa for the UK because of his criminal record.
He has 2 options: Catalans or French rugby.
He has no background in rugby and French rugby may not be interested.
Catalans would have to be convinced that he would be controllable. They would also have to release Thomas Bosc or recently signed Sam Williams and Carney would have to play scrum half. If in fact Scott Dureau is returning to Catalans next year then they will have no place for Carney.
The only option that I see is Catalans taking him for the remainder of this season. Then in 2015 he could be signed by Toulouse. That could propel Toulouse into Super League in 2016. |

I never said there was anything wrong with it, I was just highlighting the similarities.
I don't think Carney should have been pulled up also. He didn't post the picture or even know it would be posted.
I also think the Hardaker and Monaghan affairs were blown out of proportion.
It's the society we live in. Too many people trying to look for problems, and tell us what we should be doing, rather than appreciating what they have and letting it work. |

He's damaged the reputation of the club he represents and in so doing, has probably had an impact on their already impaired ability to attract sponsors.
Seems like a pretty clear cut disciplinary matter to me and I really don't see how people on a message board on the other side of the world have any right to question that.
As for the player himself, he probably needs to have a long hard look at whomever he thought were his mates; one of them has cost him his career. |

If you're comparing RL to soccer then we've already lost the battle. As I'm sure you well know, he wasn't fired because of this one incident. He has a long list of past offences, both illegal and just not nice, which have resulted in him being in this position now. It's entirely his own fault and he's gotten exactly what he deserved. |
