Aren't you glad that Leigh Centurions & the LSV not only raises the standard of playing surfaces but sets the standard to which all of RL should aspire to ?
The LSV pitch is without any doubt the finest playing surface in all of the RFL period.
Of course you may prefer the plastic pitches provided by London, Widnes & Toronto ?
See the photographs of our lovely new pitch ....

playing surface is irrelevant, just like the subject of toronto playing block matches away should be if other clubs want to do the same for reasons like the above!

| Balls to that, it's a fact that Belle Vue has the finest pitch in rugby league - it's just the falling turd surrounding it.

I know it used to be Wilzay, but I don`t think it is quite up to the standards it set itself in the past - Going back a few years it was without a doubt the best playing surface in RL. I am pretty sure our award winning ground staff went to work at Wigan or it may have even been LSV?

Ste the LSV pitch is partially plastic, its not relaid, its re-seeded artificial fibres intertwined with the natural grass. Very costly and probably covered by Man Utd cost wise.

In answer to your question, Leigh always have five aways on the bounce. Fortunatley thats five weeks to sort the pitch out,not 5 months. ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

They only alternated due to CC commitments and 14ft of snow. They played in batches, didn't they?

My thoughts exactly.......it seems that provocative and argumentative trolls are de rigueur on RLFANS.COM nowadays.
This one will rant about how well Toronto are run when in reality they are hemorrhaging cash at an alarming rate as well as leaving unpaid bills to suppliers.
By this idiots yardstick, London Broncos are a well run club because David Hughes throws £2,000,000 a year down the crapper ![CRAZY d040.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//d040.gif)

In a competition that you chose to join, which has been a mockery this year with transatlantic flights and jet lag only being an issue for the opposition. Granted TWP would have won the league regardless, but it still doesn't make it right.

2017: By my reckoning, TWP had eight transatlantic flights including one at the end of the season back to the UK. All League 1 clubs had two (out & back x 1). Whose advantage?
2018: A new pitch was being laid at Lamport Stadium, owned by the city, the work was completed in late May. Wolfpack came out for the Swinton game early May, then back to UK, then back for June 9. That's four regular season flights when you add a return to the UK in August. Also by my reckoning, very likely four more flights going home & away for the Qualifiers and then returning to the UK. Wolfpack eight trips, Leigh 2 or 4 trips, all other Championship and SL qualifiers two trips.
Bring on the Qualifiers.

Argyle will have to buy Air Transat if TWP are accepted in SL. Scheduled flights won't be acceptable to SL fixtures.

If Wolfpack make Super League, teams can choose from a dizzying array of carriers including but not limited to Air Transat, Air Canada, British Airways, Icelandic, Aer Lingus, Virgin, or any other airline that they find acceptable. They'll be paying their own way.

I don't really care. If Toronto want to play in a predominently UK based league they should fit in with the standard fixture list. I don't really care where they're from, Toronto, Catalans or Featherstone. They're all just RL teams that should be given the same chance as anyone else and not get specialist fixture treatment. Its not our fault they're based in a different continent. I am neither for or against them. They are just another team.
One thing is certain though - the deafening silence from the RFL over Canadian entry VISA issues is going to explode in the governing body's face especially if they get home advantage if they end up in the MPG. If they get into SL, I wonder how certain Catalans fans will like if when Greg Bird is denied entry?

| And there's the dilemma for the SL clubs. Allow TWP (or TO) to join SL and there's allegedly more central funding available for the UK clubs, versus virtually zero away support and the extra cost of travelling abroad... along with the added difficulty of winning games after travelling.

As many suspected, the race to collect the £1,800,000 SKY cash is part of the Plan A for Argyle...he should call the very wealthy owner of the London Broncos and ask why £4,500,000 isn't enough to run a SL club......and a foot of the table one at that.
CA$20 Tickets.....and this is a real stretch saying that 6k gates are 100% paid entry is CA$1,320,000 on the door, the shirt sponsor is 100% contra....so £750,000 on the gate and £1,800,000 from SKY......neither TV deal is worth a brass farthing, so where will the £2,000,000 a year come from...Argyle will get bored pretty quickly......that's CA$3,500,000 he needs to generate from 11 games......or CA$320,000 a game...........so 4 times what he takes on the gate currently, IF they are all paying now........it just doesn't stack up.

Any SL side that thinks there is even a remote possibility that Wolfpack might make Super League and that has any bad boys on the team should be working with the immigration consultant already.
It's been debated endlessly in these forums whether the responsibility belongs to RFL or to individual clubs to organize visa applications. But there's no excuse for any team to crank up the moan machine about player visas if they left it too late for players with criminal records to get required paperwork.

Don't think there were any unexpected losses for Championship teams in the game they played after the Wolfpack game. Quite a few of them won the next game. I'm sure if there was a performance dip, someone will be along shortly with the details.
