| Quote ="Sandal Wild Cat"Wanna total that up:
Let's say you sell 10,000 bricks- that's =#FF0000£500,000 (would you get taxed on it??)
=#FF0000£2,000,000 from WMDC- which has yet to be ratified and won't for another 10 days. Same applies for WT. So far from "in the bank" knowing our council, who I can see back tracking on both offers. Just glad we have Yorkcourt to pick up the tab.
£175,000 for Joe. But some was being used for the FPP application. So let's say =#FF0000£100,000 left
Anymore to come until WR is unlocked? Because that only comes to =#FF0000£2,669,930. Still some way short of £11,000,000.
Even with WR being sold for the £6,000,000 that still only gets you to =#FF4000£8,669,930; leaving an additional =#FF4000£2,330,070 still to find. With question marks still hanging over WR and the council loan £8,000,000 or that IMO is still to be confirmed.
I think WR will be sold eventually, possibly not in time for a 2012 move in at GH, but other than that I can't see a reason why GH is unattainable at all. £11,000,000 is a lot of money to find and it still might take longer than required but it's a certainty they will get there eventually. However as I said I think 2012 is a massive push for Cas in the current climate.
=#0040FFIF NM get's batted back to the WMDC within the next two weeks as I think it will I still think the door is open for NM and if Salford stumble too it could be the shining white horse of CT. Only on a temporarily mind- GH will be done by 2013 latest IMO.'"
Not a prayer of getting a new ground for only 11m. Not a prayer of getting 10000 Castleford people to pay 50 quid each for a brick. It would be very very optimistic to suggest they would get 6 Million for the Jungle considering how land prices have plummeted in the last few years. Only then its if they do finally get planning permission to build an houses on what is toxic land!

No where near, that kind of money you would be talking about one of the biggest sponsorship contracts in sporting history! Deluded!!!!
If you could get that much for stadium naming rights I'm sure many soccer teams would have made such a move. Just how much do you think a higher profile club like saints got for naming rights to KR? I know Wakey valued the naming rights to Belle Vue at 50K, which you would have to consider a similar club in profile and media exposure.

| A new stadium will inevitably be worth a lot more in naming rights than either BV or WR.
But if you look at the B2Net stadium in Chesterfield (which GH is modelled upon) the total breakdown of naming rights is well below £1,000,000 even with B2Net sponsoring the stadium as a whole, as well as individual sponsors for the four stands (The 'HTM' main stand, The 'Karen Child' South Stand, The 'Midlands Co-op Community' East stand & The 'Printablity' North stand The North stand).
Let's for forget to the vast majority of the public football is a far bigger deal than RL, hence greater exposure for their business, which leads to.... Yes you guessed it; bigger sponsorships.
I would be astonished if any of the new builds in SL (NM, GH, Salford or Saints) managed to get anywhere near £500,000 in sponsorship from naming rights.

Four stands plus the whole stadium naming rights? By your definition that's probably about £25k for each stand and £100k for the stadium naming rights.
Now considering we've just got one of the highest shirt sponsorships in Super League worth six figures, don't you think that the stadium, which is going to be mentioned in every article about matches there, on the radio, in magazines, etc etc, is going to be a more lucrative and valuable publicity machine for any company than a shirt, which you see on Sky, what 6/7 times a season? Come off it. The naming rights alone are going to significantly higher than what you said, especially if it's over a long term period.
If you were saying over one year, I'd probably agree, but it's likely to be over a five-year period or ten year period, no?

If you say so.
£2m over a five year period works out at £400k a season. That's approx £200k for entire stadium sponsorship per season and £50k per season for each of the four stands. I think that's a fairly accurate and reasonable figure? Considering shirt sponsorship invariably range between those figures, a stadium is going to provide much more publicity.
You only see brands on shirts either a) at games; or b) on TV or c) on photos in articles, whereas the new stadium will be SAID on every TV game, "welcome to the XYZ Stadium" on both Sky and BBC coverage. It will be mentioned on the radio "lets go back to the XYZ stadium" every Sunday. It will be in every press article for an home game, international game and cup games per season NATIONALLY, not forgetting trade papers such as League Express, League Weekly and magazines like RLW. Then you have Internet publicity and for every news article generated it's on the net. Oh, and not forgetting that the stadium will be sign posted on one of the busiest motorways in Britain and seen from the M62. Oh, and not forgetting the stadium is in a prime location close to Xscape and Junction32.
The power of sponsoring the ground is significantly higher than the shirt sponsorship IMO. And considering that figure is into six figures itself, the stadium sponsors will be significantly higher per year and I would be glad neither of you are involved in sport trying to gain sponsorships because I'd be disappointed if we only obtained £200k for the stadium.
Oh and SWC, another search of the net for info on Chesterfield's stadium yielded a little better results. I found a fans forum where they said that Chesterfield's naming rights for the entire stadium was approximately £1m and they seemed to think it was based on conditions of promotion. Considering we're in the highest division and I would say that figure is not a bad marker for any RL team for it's naming rights.

Fully old chap your getting as little wound up here, I support your project, I feel 99% confident it will happen but you have to see there are massive funding problems.
TBH I'd even support (if push came to shove) Cas using NM and paying minimal/zero rent to raise the funds to move to GH. As a club within the city of Wakefield district you have as much right to NM as we do & it if was needed I think that could be a lucrative way of raising the missing funding (if NM gets the nod).

[DeeHell posted £200k / year. Your suggestion that it is x10 (£2m/year) is idiotic. I am glad you recognise this by back tracking and claiming it is £2m over 5 years.
[£200K per year stadium naming rights. Absolutely ridiculous. For a small RL stadium that is a preposterous figure. Likewise the notion that a commercial organisation will spend £50k / year to have naming rights for the end - or side - of a small RL ground. Your commercial understanding appears very limited.
Oh, and not forgetting that the stadium will be sign posted on one of the busiest motorways in Britain and seen from the M62. Oh, and not forgetting the stadium is in a prime location close to Xscape and Junction32.
[This paragraph confirms your lack of understanding of naming / sponsorship properties. First many press articles don't bother naming the stadium, second you will be lucky to get one international every 5 years ,third company's know the value of a name check in league express or a motorway sign (The Highways Agency are tightening rules re such signs) and it is buttons. Club sponsors put a premium on tv coverage and increasingly want to get into the databas of clubs this has considerably more value than naming a small stadium near Xscape.
[try not to live in a dreamwold. Actually speak to stadium managers. Find out how easy it is to get £1m for 5 years for a small RL stadium. It is tough, unless you have a vanity investment from a wealthy supporter. It was tough before the recession. If you are disapointed at£200K you are going to end up deeply depressed.
Oh and SWC, another search of the net for info on Chesterfield's stadium yielded a little better results. 200k per year over 5 years is still a lot to find at the moment.
The design of NM is phased to have the corners of the stadium filled in over a period of time, it may prove that until we could find a similar level of funding we would have to stick to having open corners. Unless Uncle Rodney get's his cheque book out again!
On a side note Fully; does CT have a stadium pressure group?

No: WAKEFIELD fans believe there are massive funding problems - or rather hope there is to save their own skins in a SL licence.
Why would we need to move to NM? We've not sold our ground remember, so technically we could continue playing at The Jungle, rent free until such a time.

Find me my post where I ever said it was over just a singular season? Thank you very much, I'll accept your apology that you was wrong now!
As for the rest of your post, lets agree to disagree, shall we? I know how sponsorship works, thanks. As for not naming the stadium in the press, erm, let's see. Player new contracts: "Player X has agreed a new deal to stay at the XYZ Stadium for the next two years."
Match reports as you wrongly point out DO state location of where it is played: www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/au ... per-league
"Andy Wilson at the Jungle guardian.co.uk, Friday 13 August 2010 22.12 BST Article history"
And I don't think I will get deeply depressed, thanks. In fact, I'm already largely happy that we've got one company on board to sponsor our East Stand.
