Leigh have made an excellent application,and are in an excellent strong position on and off the field to fill that 12th spot, whether it's right or wrong it being gifted.

It's time to sort this out. Let Leigh into Superleague to replace Catalans, and put Catalans in the Championship with Toulouse and they can have their French derbies.

Plus playing at that level Les Catalans can then put more French players than the odd couple into their team.

So....More French players can play in the teams at that level
Away fans will go to both derbies
French TV may pay to televise the clubs...........

The only thing more preposterous than letting Leigh back into the top flight (with their erratic backer, history of welching on contracts and mostly empty stadium) would be to allow Bradford in.

In about three or four years the Bulls may be stable enough but nobody in their right minds thinks now is the time.

York, Toulouse, London - all have either done less to blot their copybooks or have more to offer the game than these two clubs at present.

Yet no mention of it in the pro-mo, first time I saw it I thought that was the one thing missing missing- but pretty sure it will be covered in the 400 odd pages

Look old chap, if my team were relegated they'd just change the rules to get us back in again; from that perspective I honestly couldn't care who is up or down, it's utterly irrelevant (although signing past-it, broken-down, Wigan reject thugs is hardly an intimidating statement of intent).

But from the point of view of clubs which have served their time, done the right thing by the sport and the people in it and who offer the best for the game's wider future Leigh don't cut it.

I honestly don't know why you find this unsatisfactory - it's hardly a unique perspective within the sport where the prospect of Leigh returning to Super League and Derek Beaumont returning to boardrooms is not particularly welcome.

We've only ever spent 2 seasons in Super League, and it will hardly be a disaster when we don't get voted in. But as long as Derek Beaumont is involved I'm pretty confident that we will be back in it for a 3rd time by gaining promotion on the playing field. I stated right from the outset that the 12th club should be Featherstone or London as they were the 2 clubs that lost out because of Toronto's promotion, and I haven't changed my opinion. But those 2 clubs like ours are not grabbing the attention of the media with their applications. Toulouse are winning this by a country mile, with Bradford in 2nd place due to their excellent SL history. That's my take on it all anyway (for what it's worth) Ghosty.
