Hardaker had been with the club over 6 months by this time, and the 'should have been addressed before now' equally applied to Wigan. Whilst it could (and should) have related to his previous clubs too, you're seeing what you want to here. I guess you're the sort of poster who would only be satisfied should Wigan take all the responsibility for any failings whether they took place during his time there or not.

I'll tell you what; let's all pretend Wigan are responsible for Bailey bottling someone, Ferris sleeping with his best mate's wife or Zak beating up a student, casting homophobic slurs or being found with cocaine in his system in Grand Final week. God forbid any other club should be culpable.

I'm extremely fit late 50's, with a very careful diet. But I like a beer (maybe 20 units a week*). Last year I developed a stomach problem which initially was thought to be alcohol related. I had to stop alcohol for 3 or 4 months; fortunately it was found not to be the cause. But you need something like that to jolt you out of the pretence that alcohol is not a huge problem to yourself & society. I still love a drink but the times I would sneak one in for no reason other than I had 20 minutes to spare are over. Going in pubs when you cannot drink should be used as a deterrent rather than prison. It would be more beneficial.
* A fraction of what I drank as a RL player, which is a terrifying thought.

I haven’t once blamed any club for Hardaker or any other players stupidity/failings. They are the fault of that player and no-one else. It would be like blaming Hull for Gareth Raynor getting sent down. I don’t lay one iota of blame or responsibility at any clubs door for their players off-field behaviour. It’s a shame Ian Lenagan doesn’t think the same way and took the chance for a petty shot at Leeds and Cas. He should stick to making up contracts for his staff.

Lenaghan's comments about Hardaker were not thinly veiled at all - they were direct criticisms of Leeds and Castleford for supposedly not doing enough for poor little Zak. Laughably the idiot child himself then threw (or spewed) it back in Wigan's face by being done for DUI seconds after signing.

To be fair, you'd either need to be on drugs to want to move to Wigan or require drugs to get you through the pain of living there.

Here's the 1 sentence answer to this one. I'll give you a few days to work out the meaning. "Before now" means all the time up to and including his time at Wigan, so not just aimed at Cas and Leeds.

You were waffling. You still are. You went on a bizarre rant about Wigan being “blamed” for Hardaker when nobody had even inferred that either at the time or now. You know why nobody has? Because it’s stupid. And only someone rather desperate to make a point would use that argument.
Which is why everyone saw Lenagan’s comments as what they were. An attempt to spin or deflect the story away from Wigan giving another chance to someone they’d already told was the last chance and toward his previous clubs. Only the most blinkered of blind followers who’ve more than drunk the kool-aid of cult Lenagan would try and argue otherwise. I bet you’re one of the cult who now don’t want their club legend back ever again because Ian Lenagan can’t get a contract organised.
