One thing is the stadium issue (as everyone likes to point out). Another was we used to draw in nearly 9k cos Glover and Elston gave them freebies which was unfeasible. Next was the Agar/Webster era which did know good whatsoever.

I think in order for us to boost attendances we need to a Cas ie reach top four or five in consecutive seasons plus an odd trip to Wembley.

A Super League club can’t be sustainably run on numbers like that. It’s only a matter of time until someone has to throw you a few quid for Bill Toupou or Tom Johnstone IMO, unless Carter has some serious money behind him, but I don’t believe he does.

Wakefield remain a nothing club. Never done a thing in decades. Won't be doing anything for decades and have a 'ground' which is so embarrassing it makes Castleford's look a palace.

They should be removed from Super League on the basis of that shed of a stadium.

That by the way is not our typical attendance figure but don’t let that bother you. Not that it matters because as far as I’m aware this is a RL comp not an attendance comp. So long as the team is competitive it’s only an issue to sh*t slingers like you.

Michael Carter has gone on record saying he appreciates we require an urgent solution on the ground front or our place in SL will be lost. Unfortunately in the current climate getting a stadium built is no easy feat unless you have a supportive local council and a good developer who intend to honour their commitments.

As for your other comment, there are plenty of other clubs who have done nothing for decades as you put it, and If we finish in the top 8 again this year, that will be 3 years in a row despite being one of if not the lowest spenders on player wages

I don’t think you are one of the lowest spenders on wages, I wouldn’t be surprised if you are close to the salary cap, which is why below 5000 crowd figures are not sustainable for you.

I believe we are making small incremental increases in our playing budget year on year but we are not spending to the cap. Michael Carter has said previously we would need average gate of 6,000 to do so and that was before we started getting money deducted from our share of the tv deal due to the ground being sub-standard.

The only other clubs I would imagine aren’t spending to the cap are Salford (who clearly were whilst MK was there), Hull KR (because I suspect they deliberately kept some space free to strengthen before the split) and possibly Widnes. All of the others are full cap with a few using the marquee player exemption as well.

I guarantee Wakefield have been spending the full cap for a number of years now, it is a case of smoke and mirrors in terms of "Look at us we are over achieving". Small club with a small club mentality.
