I'm just glad I took Batley +6 on the coupon. Widnes are worth opposing most weeks at the moment. You'd think players going out of contract would want to make themselves look good in the shop window?

A totally weird situation though , normally only clubs going down have players in this situation , this is the first time its happened the other way , they seem to start ok , but as soon as pressure is applied they seem to crumble , be interesting to see how they cope with Fax on thursday ? , as from yesterdays performance , they are close to getting things back on track

Chill, Widnes IMO deservedly got a place in SL next season. If its at the expense of us its hardly thier fault is it.

I'm sorry, but you really do not have any sort of point at all. You just sound a little pathetic and desperate. Your clubs’ future was ruined by it's previous board, in exactly the same way as ours was last time.

If you want to point the finger of blame there are other, more worthy, areas to point at than Widnes.

Will they achieve the 7000 membership they are looking for based on not knowing who will be playing next season?

We still have 2 months to find out if any team is being removed from SL and in that 2 months Wakey or whoever could go on and not lose a game.

And a team who cannot get a win at all costs in the championship and perilously near the bottom could be "relegated" into SL because they qualify







But is really is a sad state of affairs when the actual game itself is, at best, 2nd billing to all the BS about franchising being the way forward.

So the 'Vikings' took yet another hiding at the weekend against the might of Batley. The latest in a long line of embarassing defeats.

If this crowd can get hammered by those sorts of teams,imagine what big clubs like Wire will do to them next season? They will be an embarassment to our sport.

Widnes only got a SL licence this time around because of the amount of whinging and bleating they've done in the last 3 years since they were last refused and got the sympathy vote this time off the RFL.

No doubt their fans will be saying their side will look different next season,but what big name players will want to go there?

Can't help but feel embarrassed when I read Wirewonders posts.

Reading his posts I'm guessing he's a fan of a rival team trying to make Wire fans look bad. (granted at times it doesn't take much.

Regardless of what we as fans think (I think P&R is the right way not the franchise system) our governing body set out criteria 3 years ago that both SL & Championship clubs were supposed to follow.

My club Widnes, according to the RFL, are the Championship club that have followed their guidelines the best & therefore deserve to be promoted to SL this time. I am ecstatic that this is the case but do feel for Fax that also met the criteria.

The SL club that makes way for us (could have been Fax) will be the club, according to the RFL, that has been the least observant of the franchise guidelines.

All clubs were aware of the franchise guidelines 3 years ago & knew that if you followed them you could be promoted or not demoted.

Though this was not the case for the SL clubs because the RFL do not treat all clubs equally.

Wakey are favorites for the drop because they are the furthest club from the franchise criteria, we all know this a load of bollo@@s & it should be Quinns and/or Crusaders facing the drop. Whoever leaves SL will feel gutted due to this.

In a perfect world Widnes & Fax would go up, Wakey would stay up, Quinns & Crusaders would go down, but our world is not perfect.

We all know the above to be true yet the RFL persist with their expansion plans that have never worked (paymasters SKY want this) & therefore cause the anomisity between fans we see in this thread.

Divide and conquer comes to mind.

Much as your current situation does amuse me , I definatley want you to become competitive in SL , the 1 st year might be asking a little too much , and anything above 13 th will be a success , then hopefully push on , I would want this both for any future potential SL clubs , but also for your loyal fan base that has continued to support your club outside of the top tier
