The sinfield one to me shouldnt have been a penalty, seemed fine to me I think some may being a bit harsh. But as a whole a bigger issue is when ( and it has happened several times already) the ball is dropped infront of the line clearly, however We dont have proper scrums anymore may as well add Dropouts to the list

If the kicker crosses the line it should be a penalty on the 10 yard line in front of the sticks

If the player is unable to properly drop kick the ball it should be a penalty in front of the sticks

The ref should have a time limit of ten seconds from the drop kick being awarded to it being taken , or it should be a penalty in front of the sticks

For too long all these infringements have been ignored , time to tighten up

The scrum situation is very difficult to police , the whole point of having scrums now is to give the attacking team more room to potentially come up with more innovative attacking plays , but rarely does this happen , coaches it would seem don't want to exploit this situation ,

If he cannot do a proper ' drop kick ' he should be penalized , i'm sure he would manage it properly at the other end if it was the last minute of the GF and Leeds were drawing the game

As far as i can see he did do a propper drop out.

At least they could pretend to put the ball in the middle of the scrum rather than just handing the ball to the loose forward

Just out of interest who remembers the player who took a quick ' drop out ' and bounced the ball into touch , therefore getting possession at the scrum ?

He didn't, he clearly kicked the ball before it hit the ground. Should have resulted in a penalty. To say, as some have done that they should take it again is nonsense.

The same ruling should apply when players take a 20m tap and aren't in the middle of the field, currently the ref allows them to take it again. Following this logic if a player messes the PTB up why not let him have another go?

NRL have the right idea in clamping down on the KO and drop-outs.

The ' tap ' rule should in my opinion be changed to be within the line of the posts , as otherwise it requires the player to run to the 20 yard line then turn to centralize himself , which is taking away the advantage to the attacking team , not forgetting that clubs don't put a mark where the tap should be taken from

Good point. A mark would be handy and there could be no complaints then.
