No not like last time, super League in south Wales was never given a chance. They were the whipping boys for one season, hardly encouraging the masses to get behind them. If there were a competitive super league team in south Wales it would take off.

Under this id, yes.
btw: I hate to pull someone up for derailing their own thread: but according to your own thread title, this is a thread about Millennium Magic ticket sales. The other crap can go in the threads dedicated to those subjects.
Or I'll conclude it is just a troll, and lock it.

Yes the thread is about Magic weekend tickets, but it all fits together like one big jigsaw. The news reports of the near sell out of Magic weekend shows there must be a huge demand, from the south Wales public, for tickets to see super league action. Hence, a super league club should be situated in south Wales.

| They're not opening the upper tier, that's 33,000 of the 75k capacity. Neither will tickets be sold for the North Stand, the one that backs on to the old Arms Park, as it has limited facilities etc - that's probably another 15k at least. So a total sell out in this configuration would be 27,000. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising, this is the first time they've got the layout right - having the lower two parts of the bowl 80% full will create a miles better atmosphere, and look better on telly.
All in all, looking at the mix of reserved and unreserved blocks, I reckon selling out unreserved is probably about 12k.

Yes, because all the tickets are bought from people in Wales. I agree, we should include 3 more Welsh teams.

Huge demand, somehow i don't think so but if it helps you in anyway to believe it, go for it.

| Er yeah!
"Huge demand" for League in South Wales?
In a big match the SW Scorpions will get about 1000. They're a great, properly run team who are not propped up by the RFL (unlike The Wcrusaders), but HUGE demand? Don't think so.
The BRIDGEND Blue Bulls (who provided most of the Scorps and Wcrusaders' Welsh players) as an amateur team get, say, 500 on a good day. Say there's 8 slightly less successful teams (including the Valley Cougars) who get varying lesser percentages of that gate.
THEN of course there's the Wcrusaders. They have what? TEN S Wales fans?
There are many Union supporters who have a passing interest in League in S Wales, but I'll confidently predict that the ENTIRE South Wales contingent of the spectators during Millenium Magic will not outnumber the supporters of ANY of the Superleague teams, except perhaps Les Cats, Quins and the Wcrusaders (the latter because gogs dislike the S Welsh more than they dislike the English and won't travel down).

| Oh and one more thing.
All this talk of getting a SL team down in South Wales pretty damn quick to benefit from this huge groundswell of support. Do you have the memory of a ffuking goldfish?
Where the ffuk were the CELTIC Crusaders based? You know? The team you all sla99ed off for small corwds / no support etc?
By YOUR overcritical standards, Superleague failed in S Wales. Now, after being screwed over once by the RFL / Leighton Samuel / Mike Turner, you want to parachute ANOTHER ill thought out piece of shiite like the Wcrusaders into S Wales again, so that you can have another pop when it inevitable fails?
South Wales has the Scorpions and will next year have the Valley Cougars promoted to the semi -pro leagues. Let THEM grow naturally, and in 5-10 years, after the Wcrusaders are long dead, a strong SOUTH Welsh team( backed up by half a dozen pro / semi-pro SOUTH Welsh teams ) will enter Sooperdooperleague (or whatever the RFL have changed it to by then). And all the ex-Wcrusaders fans can choose to support the South Wales team or Widnes / St Helens as their local team.

Is this language acceptable on rlfans? is it an 18+ only forum?
The Crusaders were never given a chance to succeed in south Wales. They were there for one season of super league and lost nearly every week. As you say they were screwed over by Samuels, that is why im saying south Wales needs to be given another fair chance at having a super league club.
The Scorpions and Valley Cougars are doing great, but why do we have to leave them to struggle to grow on their own? Growth in rugby league would benefit the game as a whole, eg. improving the international game, and therefore the RFL should be involved in making it a success and helping these clubs to grow.

The reason the Celtic Crusaders failed is because it was a terrible idea from the start , the SWS seem ( I can only go off what I have read about them up to now ) to be looking longer term with a slower stronger building of firm foundations , I would have no problem with the RFL providing some extra financial help for them to guarantee that success

Do you honestly think that the area behind the posts pictured here is around half the capacity of the full upper tier?
I don't think it houses anywhere near the 15,000 figure you claim.
Interesting to see that there are only weekend tickets now available on the rfl ticketing page. Get your tickets soon folks or prepare to be disappointed. I personally cannot wait.

This picture demonstrates better the fact that the whole upper tier holds a lot more seats than the gap.
It certainly holds around 6 or 7 times as many seats at least.

| If the Scorpions were to improve their business (i.e. better on field results, bigger crowds, etc.), they wouldn't be able to get into SL at their current ground anyway. Their only real options would be Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli (which is 18 miles away from The Gnoll and holds 14.5k) or Liberty Stadium, Swansea (about 10 miles away and 20.5k).
Not that any of that is anywhere near to happening, but you never know. In 10 years time there could be some very good players coming through in South Wales. Not quite sure which option they'd prefer, with Swansea being closer but Llanelli probably being a bit more affordable.

If the Scorpions preferred the 15 man option, they'd be playing that sport and not rugby league.
