The current South Stand has to come down by the end of the 2011 season as the safety certificate is unlikely to be renewed. That will happen sooner rather than later.
As for the North Stand, much of that is dependent on the cooperation of YCCC.
I've not read the document yet (it'll be on the door mat at home) but it sounds like the club are running some sort of "enhanced membership" scheme, with presumably most of that revenue going into the piggy bank marked "New Stand". I dare say that there's also some sort of debenture scheme being concocted in the corporate sales department as we speak.

So basically you cannot afford to build it so you want to borrow off the fans for it ,
I thought you lot turned over 11 million and made a fortune , how wrong I was

Come again? Why on earth not? Fair enough it might be a low and fairly flat roof, just to cover the existing terrace, but there is no reason at all why it couldn't be done. What you might struggle with is a big new stand with the roof many metres in the sky like the other end, but not just a basic roof providing simple shelter.

Exactly. If they are saying they can't design a roof for that little away terrace they must have some really cheap engineers.
It's so small you could make it from plastic like a big bus stop or smoking shelter roof. It needn't be a towering super structure like the other stands.

The new bus "shelter" behind Bradford City Hall would just about do the trick.

Again, there is no "away end" at Headingley. Away fans are free to buy tickets in the North, East and South stands if they wish.
Why would anyone other than a L**ds fan want to stand in the south stand to be insulted, threatened, have chewing gum stuck on their back and beer spilt all over them?
Oh yes, you can stand anywhere at Shedingly!

Easy. I can put Gary in touch with some lads who'd knock that up, cash in hand, one weekend when the Rhinos are playing away.

Plenty of opposition supporters have stood / sat in other parts of the ground without incident.

Indeed, I used to make it a habit of going to Leeds-Cas games with a Leeds supporting friend - there was never anything other than good banter, whoever was winning (admittedly it was usually them).

But you'd have to say though that on the face of it, the Mayans' future foretelling was a tad suspect, given they failed to predict the rather more pressing issue of their own demise. Oops!

There has been no demise. They are simply engaged in negotiations with Wakefield Council about getting a stadium built. These things take time. They are going to publish some new pictures of an artists impression by Christmas.

| A vast improvement on the current shed, but lets be honest here, this is nothing more than a fancy picture at present, and needs be treated with the same scorn as Wakefield, Salford and Castlefords proposed developments.
That is until Leeds have submitted full planning applications for the respective stands.
I actually think the only part of the development with a chance of happening in the next 5 years is the South stand, and thats basically because its falling down and needs replacing asap before its closed altogether as a safety hazard.

| Headingley STILL has the problem that is not the easiest ground to drive to or park.
First (Leeds) as a bus company are a joke and the Harrogate line is not the most efficient in the area and yet the line practically passes the ground but the station is a bit further away.
Looking at the image, is the south stand to become an all seater?
I like Headingley, its a close to the action ground with proper terracing.
Not everyone wants all seater stadiums in fact IMO they are quite souless compared to the terrace design.

| Quote ="bramleyrhino"Certainly the least favourable option. The fans, generally, don't want a ground on a retail park car park in the middle of nowhere (there's very little land within "the city" that would be cheap / suitable enough). One of the biggest attractions to Headingley (and one of the reasons that people cite on this forum for Leeds being a good "away day"icon_wink.gif is the surrounding area. The club also has too much revenue generating infrastructure already at Headingley (mainly the hotel).
Again, there is no "away end" at Headingley. Away fans are free to buy tickets in the North, East and South stands if they wish. And you could equally make the argument that having the choice to stand in the open is a plus side to Headingley, particularly in the more favourable weather.'"
Have you saw the price differance with the western terrace compared to any seat at headlingley

I'd just build a matching stand to The Carnegie Stand on the Western Terrace and fook the residents behind, they're only students anyway.

If submission of full planning application is the point where scorn stops then why list Salford above?

Really? You honestly think that Leeds have a vested interest, to make it appear as if their stadium plans are further ahead than they in fact are, because they too fear not getting a license? Did i miss the bit where their current license was given to them based on the promise of an improved stadium?
