| Vila Mautautia and Apollo Perelini where excellent profesionals and people. Nowadays Maurie Faasavalu takes the plaudits, always signing autographs, plays rugby with the little kids when he use to go watching his cousin play for Thatto Heath and just generally a really nice guy.
Tim Jonkers, Paul wellens and Fereti Tuilangi are others.

| A few of the Leigh players are friendly blokes, Andy Coley is a nice bloke but the friendliest guy in rugby must be Steve McCormack...sometimes to his cost, I fear.

| James Graham, Danny Maguire and , bizarrely, Paul Cooke.
I was at the same roulette table as a lot of manly players 2 weeks a go and there banter was pretty funny.
Mark Carrol still hasn't signed my book!

| I've met many players over the years, and i've never really had a problem with many.
Paul Sculthorpe, Barrie McDermott, Sean Long, Andy Farrell and Ian Millward were all really nice blokes.

| I've had good chats with Terry Matterson, Danny Sculthorpe, Wayne Godwin and Stanley Gene to name a few that first spring to mind, whilst Jason Robinson was very obliging recently when a Dutch friend of mine randomly introduced herself to him in our local Tesco, simply because she wanted to meet an English celebrity while she was over here.
My brother's missus also seems to speak pretty highly of Phil Bailey after she used to serve him quite often in the cafe she used to work in.
Never spoken to Barrie MacDermott personally, but he appears very approachable whenever I see him at various matches; always has a posse of fans hanging off him.
The most memorable chat I've had with a (then) rugby league player was Lee Smith, who strolled up behind me at a cashpoint queue in a Leeds nightclub, and asked what I thought of Lee Smith. Not knowing it was him, I said I was quite impressed with what I'd seen of him during his first season, after which he introduced himself and thanked me before skipping off (literally) towards the bar. Odd.

Interesting, why was Slater an idiot? Shame if true he's a fantastic player.
As much as it pains me to say it was a Viking, anyone who has met Matt King won't have met a nicer bloke.

| Met Henry Paul last year in a pub on the Otley Run in Leeds. He was dressed as a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Really nice bloke, had a photo taken with us and took the mick out of Robbie.
A couple of pro's help coach amateur clubs in Leeds (and I'm sure many others do accross the country) which I think says alot about their attitude and willingness to give back to the sport.

| Paul Cullen - Despite being in Manchester airport departure lounge at 6.30am, he was still up for a good chat about RL. Cracking bloke, very articulate about the game and a true gent.
Ashley Klein - Saw him a few years ago at Belle Vue (or the Atlantic Solutions Stadium, whatever the hell it was called back then!) walking towards the entrance and as he was walking up a small set of stairs, he ended up tripping up and falling on his ar$e. Despite us laughing, and saying we hope he doesn't do that during the game, he took it in good heart.
Terry O'Connor - Shoulder charged the guy, by accident of course, in the concourse at the Millenium Stadium the last time the Magic Weekend was there. Left my coat in my seat and ran back to get it, but as I ran round the corner, I couldn't stop in time and smacked straight into him. I didn't know whether to beg for forgivness or run off , especially as Barry McDermott was pi$$ing himself laughing and winding me up saying I shouldn't have done that, but I just dusted his suit down, straightened his tie up and apologised. He couldn't have been more nice about it and wished me well for the weekend.
