Quote ="Widnes 'till i die"Not everything. They are very important though. We need a super league where every team is spending the full salary cap every year, otherwise it will continue to be uncompetitive, so that is where we need to be heading. Imo, either Quins need to seriously increase their crowds, or find another massive source of income, otherwise they wont be able to compete. I find it fairly hard it believe that there is a massive source of income they have ignored thus far, therefore substantially increasing their crowds seems to be the only way they will be able to compete in the long run. Which part of that dont you agree with?'"
You are me......now where's my fiver?
Wire-quin is almost as repetative as me...he will continue to say that everything is fine and I should stop banging on about marketing......
I think QuinsRL will need to be averaging 4k by this time next year to have a chance and 5k if they want to be sure of getting another 3 years.

| I choose Salford because we don’t need any Yorkshire sides kicked out of Super League. I think its time we swapped Manchester for Cumbria in the next set of applications.
Its time we let the one time challenge cup winners Barrow Raiders a chance back in the big time. We must also acknowledge what Manchester has contributed to the game over the years yet it is in a dire sorry state at the moment. For example what has ever happened to the powerhouses that were Swinton and Oldham?
It’s a sorry state these two are in who at one point attracted 33,448 to a challenge cup Final at Central Park. We certainly shouldn’t leave Manchester behind in rugby league terms and we as a rugby league family should do all we can to revive the glory days of rugby league in Manchester. However Salford or any other Manchester team doesn’t belong in super league at the moment and its sad.
But we’ve got to do something about it.
[url=http://leeds.rlfans.com/readarticle.php?article_id=1320We should also have another Leeds side in super league as well.[/url

| =#8000FFSalford out, more stadium lies then Cas & Wakey combined, the worst squad in the league by some distance & an almost non-existent fan base & junior development.

| This is a very tough issue and I wouldn't like to be in Red Hall making the decision.
On crowd numbers alone then it would have to be us and Salford. There is no alternative on that front IMO. But it is bigger than that. We have made massive inroads in the south in recent years and League participation in London and the South East is beginning to take root in a very big way due to our efforts. I think our support base will grow organically over the next few years because of this regardless of marketing. I don't think out average will ever be as high as the big teams for whatever reason unless we win a few things over a sustained period.
I do think that should we not be given a license then development in the south will suffer and League as a whole will lose out especially at international level.
I don't think we will lose the franchise on the development basis alone.

| If we're talking stadiums why haven't Saints, even Bradford, been included in this poll? I hate this obsession with stadiums, particularly as Leeds achieved an A grade... an A grade for Headingley!?
Anyway, I can't believe folk are still gunning for Wakey to have the drop. Ok, Belle Vue is run down and the club needs to move, but the community stadium is well on the way. Wakey's ground is much further along than Cas and Salford's and not too far behind Saints. Wakey also have a terrific youth set up, better, in fact, than a lot of other clubs. Wakey have also been building examplery community initiatives. Wakey are also now serious play off contenders year on year. The attendances might not be breathtaking, but improvements have been made and in a new stadium with modern facilities I can see the attendances continuing upwards. In comparison to other clubs it seems really unfair to still suggest that Wakey should be cast out of SL.
I think that Quins should be dropped. I think the club needs to spend time in the Championship to build up the fan base, build a new infrastructure in a new part of London and drop the Quins brand. It was glaringly obvious from the off that a RL team wearing the colours and bearing the name of an Onion club was never going to work and it still hasn't. The club needs to either team up a lower league football club, ala Cru, or start a fresh in a new part of town. Heck, move to Brixton and tap into the Black community. Put it to the aspiring youths that not only could they eventually play for the London club in SLin the future, they could, depending on their parents etc, play for England or even the Jamaican national side.
However, I can't see the RFL wanting to remove SL presence from London, so Salford should be up for the drop.

I agree with you Dico,Salford for me should be kicked out of superleague along with their horrible fans and bring Widnes in with their quality fans.

=#8000FFFirst point - I agree, add KR to that too, the worst ground in the league.
Second point - Wakey ground is behind Cas still, Cas got outline planning permission over a year ago Wakey are waiting for it, Salford are starting building soon and Saints HAVE started building, so Wakey are still some distance behind, do they have ARCHITECTURAL drawings or just the plan drawings too?

| Wakey may be behind Cas but Wakey plan on building a stadium with 4 sides, just saying like..
I still reckon a sort of 'Wests Tigers' merger could go down a treat there.

Wakey are also getting funding from other organisations. Cas aren't, in fact, it's mostly done off Cas's back.

=#8000FFIt is the worst ground in the league and by some distance, you get to sit on dangerous temp seating or stand on a terrace that's closer to the Humber then the pitch for like 20 quid, rough area, stewards that bully and abuse away fans, so what's good about Caravan Park apart from they look after the glory seeking home "fans"?

| The stewards don't bully and abuse anyone or they wouldn't have a job.
It doesn't cost £20 to go in the seated stand behind the sticks and it has all the relevant health and saftey certification so its only dangerous if you behave in a dangerous manner as is everything.
And you'll have to define rough area, as you've obviously lived their for 20 years so are in a position to give an opinion on an area you visit for no more than 2 hours once a year.

No but there attitude to stopping players approach their own fans is only second in its patheticness as Wigans stewards.
I for one like the fact that players can still shake hands with their fans unlike in moron ball where the players are traeted as superior beings who dont mix with the common fans.

It's the Community Trust Stadium not Wakefield's, we've just agreed to play there. Wakefield knew we couldn't afford a stadium on our own so we excepted the community trust offer. The community trust has gained the funding from sport England aswell as other organisations.

I am going to show my mate at work this on Monday, He will laugh His socks off at the reference to Brixton. Junior sides in London do target Brixton not just the Jamacian/African/Barbadian/st kitts/ bermudian etc community. Think You will find Harlequins do too.

Odsal is deemed by the RFL to be good enough for Super League and rightly so - okay it only has one stand covered but there's nothing actually wrong with it. Bradford have had plans for the last god knows how long to rebuild/build a new stadium - and for various reasons those plans haven't succeeded as of yet.
Bradford are safe this round of franchises, but the next they'll need to have made more progress on Odsal with the amount of teams getting new stadiums.
HTH.
