I agree, that is a good point. Monaghan was a sensation in his last season at Manly but he was playing at Hooker. He was replaced by Orford at 7 a few seasons ago.

The big question has always been how good is Michael Monaghan. He is a strange player to work out. He has touches of brilliance at 7 but seems to lack consistency and seems to go missing in some games.

The position he is consistently good at is Hooker and that is not what Warrington need him to be. A return to the NRL may be the best move for him.

Maybe Warrington need to sign a good Stand off to replace him rather than a scrum half.

The sooner a lot more follow him back the better for the future of the game in GB and the more spaces for home reared talent and a lot better value for money!

if you want to compare jamie lyon's MoS award compare it to other player awards like (ironically) a dally M award or a clive churchill award though even thats pushing it given it's based on the performance in 1 game not a seaons worth of game ...and not a team trophy like a NRL title..especially when lyon was bagged throughout that season playing at 6 and only ever got good press when he was moved to late on in games and generally crossed the whitewash..

you need him badly and the club is certainly chasing him

Preston Campbell won a NRL title playing at 6 - even by the widest stretch of the imagination could anyone call him a good player - Sean Rudder is another - Ben Iken another - not sure your arguement stands scrutiny!!

Lyon wasn't considered good enough to be a playmaker for Saints he was a centre when he won his MOS - a fact obviously lost in your desire to show what a fool you are
