Have to say that the NRL coverage over here (NZ) is nothing short of outstanding. Regardless of the fact that soccer is an afterthought down here, the punditry is funny and informative, the "guests" in the studio intelligent and all the games are covered. Even better is the stroke of luck that the NZ super 14 teams started getting tonked the same week the NRL started and Kiwis have to be the most fickle bunch of supporters in the world.
Sky tv in the UK and the BBC with the SL show should hang their heads in shame.

Funny, a few years ago I seen the NRL sneak into the top 10 on sky sports with about 50k, never seen the S14 get in that spot.

You play a very dangerous game when you refuse a Sky deal.
Look at the FA choosing a a joint Setanta/ITV deal over SKY/BBC which has left them a big black hole on the England/FA CUP deal.

I know its a bitter pill to swallow that only the east coast of aus and a handful of brits watch the NRL which is sky decided it just wasnt worth it

I dont need to because as I said it was widely publicised at the time and anyone with even a passing interest in Rugby knows what happened. As such I couldnt be bothered wasting my time telling people what they already know. If you are that bothered search yourself because you obviously have nothing better to do.

I have looked high and low because I dont like to post things without anything to back me up and there is NOTHING other than a couple of people posting on forums saying Sky bid, only to be quoted by other people with links showing that Sky ditched it. I certainly dont remember it being widely publicised at all. As I said, there is NOTHING on the internet, so if it was widely publicised, where are all the internet links? Or have they all been removed by the RFU?

Believe it or not, I couldnt really care less and dont give a damn if you believe it or not. However if you were a Rugby fan you would know what happened as it was widely reported at the time. However as you are a Union fan, with nothing better to do than troll on Rugby websites, then you probably genuinly haven't got a clue.
