Utter nonsense
Also if it was based on that that Emma lass won the us open without dropping a set all tournament talk about poor standards .....
Melbourne beat manly in a play off by 40 points ......

It clearly was a bit 'meh' the way your fans and players celebrated at the HJ recently.

Markedly the number of bought in players for Leeds is greater than in the past when they won things. Not sure if Saints are that "home grown" when you look carefully but maybe they have "Bought better"??

Everyone else is so crap they’re not even tested and can cruise around in 2nd gear. Catalans will bend over, like all the pretender teams do in the grand final.

It’s an illusion. Fixtures are uneven plus Covid, saints have way more gears than Catalans and are loads better so them finishing top, don’t read into it.
There is literally one decent team in the comp. Catalans are decent in theory, but we’ll be shown how “decent” they are next week.
The game in this country is in an absolutely appalling state. I guess sintellibs fans will be happy though, so hey ho.

You couldn't be more wrong with Saints, we played 12 acadamy produced players the other week against Salford. Wigan. Leeds and Saints are way ahead of the rest of Superleague, these teams think long term whilst other teams just survive on a quick fix of average overseas players.
Saints have pivotal players in =#FF0000 Coote, Welsby, Lomax, Dodd, Roby and Knowles there is only one overseas player there the rest came through the acadamy.

I said I was "not sure" so thanks for the post. When Wigan were winning the pots they had a high level of quality kids coming through, I can even go back to Widnes and how powerful their home grown teams were when they were winning trophies.

Yes but you are going back 50 years when most clubs had home grown talent, my earlier post mentioned the Superleague Era. I'm pretty sure Widnes didn't have a lot of home grown talent in that period the UK players were mainly from Wigan and Saints in that Widnes side.
As I said earlier its only Leeds, Wigan and Saints who are doing the business of getting players from their academies to progress into the first team, all other clubs are not doing enough to increase the depth of the UK player pool.

Most clubs didn't have that much home grown talent back then, in1975 Warrington used 40 players and only 8 were from Warrington. Ten came from St.Helens. Salford had one Salford born player - Sammy Turnbull, Lancashire clubs had a good number of Wigan lads in their teams. At that time Swinton had 10 saints/wigan players and only 4 swinton lads.
In Lancashire the Saints/Wigan clubs successes fostered great interest in the playing of the game in those towns and their amateur set ups have fed that success for decades, that in turn attracts more talented youngsters into the game from those towns for them to continue winning the cups.
Obviously an ambitious Warrington have tried hard for years to replicate those production lines but haven't got anywhere near the historic and effective Saints/Wigan set ups.
Frank Mylers 1970's Widnes had 25 Widnes born players delivering success and that went on for some time, into another generation of great local born Widnes players, who kept that success going and the cups coming in in the 1980's when Jonathan Davies played for them. There's little RL talent there now.........
All SL clubs have player development "foundations" paid for by SKY so they all but Salford run academies, the problem is all the best young talent want to go to the Wigan's, Saints and Leeds of this world. How do you "do enough" if your best local kids Like Watkins as a young salford academy lad, are intent at signing at the top clubs???

Because these clubs like Leeds. Wigan and Saints came into the Superleague era with already strong local player development set ups as they won lots of trophies and still do, and an historic ability as big successful clubs to attract young players away from the places they were actually produced.
As I say Leeds didn't produce Callum Watkins, Salford did, the way things work out now is quality youngsters often don't sign to the local clubs. Rob Burrow wasn't a Leeds lad but they also signed him to their academy. These examples are not really "Player development" more like rich clubs poaching talent produced elsewhere....

This is the thing Jason. In soccer the top club would be just that.
In Rugby league you can be crowned the top club from fourth place albeit didn't that used to be from as much as 16th. place?
Wrencat will remember Dewsbury beating Leeds from 8th. to be champions in the early seventies...........
League Leaders is/should be the real prize
