Wire a bigger club? Naaaaaa!

And let's not forget that you've already enjoyed the attendance boost that a new stadium brings.
Wakefield averaged nearly 6,500 last year and that was on the back of one of the worst season in terms of performances in many fans living memory.
A new stadium coupled with new investors/owners may well see a Trinity resurgence and potentially 10,000 crowds.

If you read my post I said that Barrow borough population was bigger or [icomparable[/i to Halifax. I think 70-odd thousand is comparable to 80-odd thousand. More so when talking about catchment areas and number of other, bigger, RL clubs close to Halifax.

| A fine willy waving competition to be sure but I'm not sure town boundaries are the be all and end all of the catchment area discussion. Many of these clubs which purportedly have a larger population area than Mexico City and Tokyo put together have not achieved decent crowds in years anyway.

No , it has been quite obvious that they have been shifting dirt for several months now
I have never suggested it wasn't going to happen , just that it wasn't going to happen when they said it was going to happen , and also what they said was going to happen has in fact changed from what was originally going to happen

Well, you're certainly right about that. Salford originally had grand plans for a stadium, casino, hotel which was apparently going to make them 'the richest club in Superleague' and, if I recall rightly 'a million pounds a season before a turnstyle clicks' (which was a Tarryism I think). They've since adjusted their expectations to something much more sensible. Steady growth is where it's at.
However, it should always be remembered that it was a pretty ambitious project (just be location for a start) and they've done tremendously well to get it sorted finally. Crowds of 10,000 are enough to fund a decent SL side. You've got to expect that their new facility will get them to that pretty easily. Without question, it will strengthen the competition enormously and you have to also expect them to be secured in SL for many years to come.

| :3qma0t34How are clubs planning new or redeveloped stadia going to be assessed?
New stadiums or redevelopments of existing stadiums will only be taken into account if the RFL is satisfied that the stadium will be open or the redevelopment finished by the start of the 2012 season
The RFL will bottle it cos it knows if it looks too closely at Stadia, Bradford and Hull KR & Leeds wouldn't exactly come out shinning! Making away fans stand in uncovered areas in 2010 is not really great. The RFL should be flexible if the stadiums are in the process of being built fair enough ( I mean being built, not just the groundworks being done! ) If not then boot em out!

Are Wakey, Cas and Salford all now doomed to fail in their licence applications? Personally I think that the RFL will pretty much ignore this rule and they will grant licences to 2 out of 3 clubs, even if their stadiums will not be ready for 2012. Can anyone see the RFL kicking out 2 or even all 3 due to stadia that doesn't meet their criteria?'" :103wfb9x

Wanna total that up:
Let's say you sell 10,000 bricks- that's =#FF0000£500,000 (would you get taxed on it??)
=#FF0000£2,000,000 from WMDC- which has yet to be ratified and won't for another 10 days. Same applies for WT. So far from "in the bank" knowing our council, who I can see back tracking on both offers. Just glad we have Yorkcourt to pick up the tab.
£175,000 for Joe. But some was being used for the FPP application. So let's say =#FF0000£100,000 left
Anymore to come until WR is unlocked? Because that only comes to =#FF0000£2,669,930. Still some way short of £11,000,000.
Even with WR being sold for the £6,000,000 that still only gets you to =#FF4000£8,669,930; leaving an additional =#FF4000£2,330,070 still to find. With question marks still hanging over WR and the council loan £8,000,000 or that IMO is still to be confirmed.
I think WR will be sold eventually, possibly not in time for a 2012 move in at GH, but other than that I can't see a reason why GH is unattainable at all. £11,000,000 is a lot of money to find and it still might take longer than required but it's a certainty they will get there eventually. However as I said I think 2012 is a massive push for Cas in the current climate.
=#0040FFIF NM get's batted back to the WMDC within the next two weeks as I think it will I still think the door is open for NM and if Salford stumble too it could be the shining white horse of CT. Only on a temporarily mind- GH will be done by 2013 latest IMO.
