| Not a happy hunting ground for us but three memories:
1 - Sneaking a win there in Widnes' first SL season under the floodlights and on SKY in 2002.
2 - Losing 13-12, I think it was, in 04/05.
3 - Watching a miserable game, the first of the season, perhaps the beginning of the end for Widnes!
nb, I Wasn't there, but remember hearing about an underdog draw for Widnes in the Championship in 2008 in front of a big crowd. Think it may be on that video sharing site.

For me my greatest ever memory was lifting the 1995 Championship at The Willows against Keighley, The team of Blakeley, Pannapa, Lee, Hampson,Eccles,Sini,Rogers and Mcavoy are one of my all time favourites. Another sweet victory was this one

| Going there for the first time as a kid, back in the days of Keith Fielding, and standing at the top of the terrace behind the sticks and thinking that the stand was massive!! Now, I stand there, look to my left, and wonder why people are drinking and standing on a pub roof.

That was Ronnie Naughton and he told them if they gobbed off once more, he'd put them on their dead-ball line.
He did get a letter from Chapeltown Road about it though.

| Quote ="Tuco"Never forget Saints getting knocked out the Cup there in 1988.We were absolutley gob-smacked at the end.Saints were on a 3 month unbeaten run and cup favourites but turned in a terrible display culminating with Tony Burke throwing a looping panic pass right across his own posts which Salford gleefully snapped up to finish the game late on.Think Kevin Ashcroft was Salford coach at the time getting one over his old mate Alex Murphy.'"
Unfortunatly thats my memory as well.
I think It was somebody like Mick Worrell??? who snapped up that pass.
We actually got in that game on forged tickets,Saints had sold out but back then they were such poor quality you could photostat em.

| 3/08/2007. Salford 24 Rovers 30. Effectively sealed our survival in our 1st season in super League, and consigned Salford to a year in the National Leagues. Over 7,000 for a televised game, the atmosphere was brilliant, as were Cookie & Webbo.

| Warrington Wizards met them in the challenge cup. We were treated like stars not amateurs at Salford, fantastic hospitality.
On the pitch we were soundly beaten 66-10, but we stood behind the sticks and gave Fitzpatrick grief telling him that we were lulling them into a false sense of security and if the game was 10 minutes longer we'd have won!

| Only went there once, for the relegation battle in 2007. Thanks to our second-half performance and victory it was a great night, but I have to say it was the most intimidating place I've ever been to for an RL game.

| A poop ground in a complete poophole of a place.
The only saving grace was some half-decent cheerleaders.
Sorry if that spoils anyone's rose tinted memories of the place, now that it is about to get levelled.

| League leaders shield in 2009 (part of three days without sleep that began with me quitting my job in Leeds, two trips to Manchester and ended in a Sushi bar in North East Japan)
It used to be one of the grounds where you could go stand in the best spot even as an away fan, not many left now...

| One thing that sticks in the mind about the Willows was Salford's innovative idea to play recordings of crowd noise over the P/A system to generate an atmosphere, can't believe this never caught on.

Yeah a fine game and a cracking atmosphere, you should of won it in the last minute but didn't go for the drop for some reason.

I shall definetly miss the routine of getting the train from Wigan to Manc Vic, having a few beers in the city centre, before getting on the tram to Weaste. They were always enjoyable days and cheap ones as well! Sadly the new place is not so easily accessable by public transport?'"
Get the 100 bus from the City Centre goes to The Trafford Centre (actually goes past Weaste Lane) and its a 10 minute walk or jump on the 67 which goes to Patricroft, Irlam and Cadishead area ground is right near there. Tram to Eccles to and you can catch either one of those buses there or get a cab.

| Contrary to Roofs experience, always found the Willows to be a great and friendly place to go, apart from falling A over T in the club bar one Sunday evening
For me the memory of a game around 2000 when we had found out that day Dickie B was letting the club go and we looked like we had no future only for Ritchie Barnett to have one of his few outstanding games in a Broncos jersey and rip Salford apart, so what did their supporters do at the end of the game?
Cheer and applaud the Broncos off the field like real supporters of the game and the performance of a player even if not one of their own.

Inside the ground it was always absolutely fine, the Salford fans are an awesome bunch and a great laugh - it's outside the ground that I didn't like, Weaste is a hole, unfortunately.

Actually yeah tbf I guess it was the area that was the main issue, apparantly the night we won there were little pockets of trouble all over. Without sounding like a wimp I was semi-jogging back to the car tbh.

| I had the most horrible burger ever in my life at the willows
I think that the highlights of the Saints v Salford game in 2005 on boot’s n’ all is probably the memories that I’ll cherish the most. The one where if you didn’t knock on you could have gone on to win the game.
I’ll just add that other than the dodgy burger my experience at the Willows was a pleasant one!

| Surprised there aren't many Warrington memories on here.
The famous Kidwell pass.
Alan Hunte scoring a CC QF winning try for us on Grandstand in something like the 8th minute of stoppage time.
Fitzpatrick scoring in front of the Wire fans and giving us the bird.
And a personal one from this season: jumping up so high after a try that I went over the top of the crash barrier and fell straight on my face/knees.
