No chance IMO, unfortunately it's too late in his career now. He has a young family, he'll be on a very good wage at Leeds and could be very well set up for a few years to come so I don't think well see him in the NRL, which is a shame.
As for McGuire, the only thing professionally stopping him i can see is money and that he is in a long term contract with leeds, allthough whether there is a clause in there about letting him go to an NRL club I do not know.

Haha, you will never lose that chip on your shoulder.
Barrett has already commented on the difference in intensity on his coming back to the NRL. I'd bet we'll hear it from Ellis sometime this year also. It's the plain truth.

unfortunately it is the truth, but that doesnt mean Super Leagus isnt a good entertaining product because it is, the problem is you will only get a handfull of games that will match the NRL for intensity (last Fridays game was one of them!)

benji is playing 7 now
hes been up and down but today he was brilliant
this could be the biggest sheens masterstroke ever.
if mcguire came to teh nrl they wouldnt give him the 6 straight away.
they probably put him on the bench or centres to see his impact
though with john morris as the tigers 6 i think mcguire would be a better option

That would be the only chance of him going.
As for Mcguire, i wouldnt put him in the centres TBH he's actually matured into an out and out 6 IMO

| He's way too small for a centre I reckon, especially in the NRL.
Although for some reason i'm sure he played on the Wing a few times when he first came into the Leeds team 5 or 6 years ago, could be really mistaken though.

to get a spot in the halves for a SL player is a risk many clubs wont chance.
its too important to risk and other than long, theres not many current english players i think they would risk straight away
hed have to start in a less important spot and then work his way up

McGuire's defence would not be an issue in the NRL - if you look at some of the 6's running around the NRL defence is not a premium - his defence is on a par with virtually any half back in the NRL.
The issue for me is his speed - he used to be very quick sadly a combination of hernia issues and being bulked up to help his defence has slowed his pace. If what we have seen this season the pace could be an issue.
As for playing FB - not a chance simply not quick enough

you mean like mcguire defence in the WCC.
hes a speed bump.
NRL 5/8th make around 30 tackles per game.
when lockyer and inglis moved there they struggled with the extra defensive load.
danny boys defence doesnt inspire me with big foot plus centres and backrowers running at him all game.

You obviously don't watch much of Lockyear then - he makes more tackles in bars than he does on the field - I would interested to know the last time Lockyear, Thurston, Barrett, Orford, Marshall ever made 30 tackles in a game - and I don't mean third man in on a tackle!!
2007 season:
Lockyear man 242 tackles in 14 games - average of 17
Thurston averaged 13 a game
Orford averaged 14
Marshall only 7
Once again your pronouncements do don't stand up to the reality of what actually happens.
Whether McGuire has the all round ability to play as a half back in the NRL is debatable - his kicking isn't the best especially his long kick a prerequiste of a half back in the NRL - one thing his defence is as good as any of the above

According to Superleague.co.uk McGuire is averaging 17.5 tackles a game.
His defence has improved out of sight in the last few years.

Is there no end to your insecurity driven waffle. Your endless attempts to big up the NRL and downgrade SL are becoming quite laughable and pathetic. Calling McGuire a "speed bump" you have hit a new low.
I would have thought even someone as lost in their own stupidity as you couldn't have failed to notice a 20 year old SL Academy player lost his life in a reserve team match making a tackle - was he a "speed bump" or whatever equally dim ocker comment you have in your locker. Was his defence suspect, would NRL training have stopped that? No it wouldn't because they are all brave lads who give their best - end of.
This mythical difference in intensity between the NRL and SL only exists in your prepubescent imagination in my opinion. For most of us the difference is minimal and thus both leagues are watched and admired. Both leagues contain genuinely great players, and which league they decide to play in does not diminish that other than to self justifying fools like you who need constant validation of themselves and their ideals.
Ellis always has been a superb player - playing in the NRL will make him a different player but not a necessarily a better one. Peacock will probably not play in the NRL but that will not diminish him in any way, he like Ellis has already proved himself a great player.
After the last week I myself have a new admiration and respect for all RL players at whatever level. Now please drop your evangelical NRL is the best, SL is poor, my dad is bigger than yours nonsense. Don't bleat that you never mentioned any of this because your endless inferences that SL is soft are all too obvious, just enjoy both and give us all a break.

Unless Benji has had his talent for the game reduced by 90%, then there is no similarity at all. McGuire isn't up to NRL standard. It would be Shaun Edwards all over again, great in a winning team in England, out of his depth in Australia.
Ellis OTOH had a very good game last night and totally outplayed Mason.

The week to week intensity won't phase him, he's one of the best conditioned athletes in the game, is very mentaly strong and is probably the most professional player at the Wests club.'"
I did not mean that incident, I agree he could not stop the player going low, he should have gone Chest high.
I was referring to where he went the wrong way and opened a gap for the Cowboys to run through, he had several lapses in defence.

I think Marshall, Farah, etc may be as professional as Gareth to be honest.

danny mcguire has great potential to be a good player in the nrl.

| Danny McGuire an NRL 6 ???!?!?!?!?!
Can't pass accurately both ways, can't control a game and he doesn't even direct the forwards at the side he is at now. This is before you start with his defence, which is turnstyle like.
Danny McGuire is a support player who profits from lazy defence, which he won't encounter in the NRL. Imagine the laughing stock the SL would become if we sent McGuire there claiming to be a genuine half back, it doesn't bear thinking about.
Lets leave McGuire to look brilliant against the poor defences he comes up against over here.
