England 22-man squad: Ryan Atkins (lack of other options, lack of imagination in selection or lack of form? id say a combination of all three), Chris Bridge (doesnt really do it for me, but dependable), Tom Briscoe (without a doubt), Danny Brough (without a doubt), Garreth Carvell (well deserved, in form), Eorl Crabtree (without a doubt), Leroy Cudjoe (has yet to do anything useful in an england shirt, but worth a shout), James Graham (always gives everything for england, a definate selection), Ryan Hall (despite the anti hall bandwagon he is the best winger around over the past couple of years), Jamie Jones-Buchanan (WTF!!??? nuff said), Adrian Morley (always gives his all), Richard Myler (WTF!!?? lomax anyone?), Sean O'Loughlin (one of those who is repeatedly selected but always fails to impress or is outright gash against quality teams like Oz and NZ), Jamie Peacock (WTF!!?? play some more games first, and then we will see), Luke Robinson (without a doubt), James Roby (without a doubt), Michael Shenton (Briscoe, hall,J tomkins, S tomkins, bridge, shenton leaves no room for ryan atkins in the three quarters or the bench IMO, just dont see a place for atkins to be honest), Kevin Sinfield (picked on form? not a chance), Joel Tomkins (going well at centre and can always play in the pack if need be. worth his spot), Sam Tomkins (without a doubt), Ben Westwood (how many goal kickers do you really need?), Jon Wilkin (not setting the world alight but solid all season)
I would also agree that Brown should be in there.
im also well aware that come the four nations sinfield wont be playing 6, Widdop no doubt will be. sinfield is in because he can cover several positions and will most likely be at 13 come the 4 nations.

I think you are missing out Lunt, too. The fact he is in the Knights squad, bemuses me even further.

Roby will be out for the Exiles game.

I think it should practically an England 'A' side myself.

The full side won't get any real benefit, nor will the game as a whole.

For development purposes I'd much rather see England playing the French or Welsh full test sides.

Looking back to the last 4N it was individual erros that cost England, that's not necessarily skills coaching but concentration and mental focus which should be drilled into players from an early age.

As A rovers fan I have no interest in the game at all now. Welham & Yeaman should be in there on pure form alone. If they are not picked then they should give up any pretence that form is a criteria. There are arguments for picking club combinations to work together but picking players to play out of position ahead of specilaists ie Sinfield at No 6 or 9 or Joel Tompkins at centre, he would be OK as back row player who could drop into the if there is an injury in the course of play but he would not get into the side ahead of other better back row forwards. Also why is Ben Galea & Micheal Dobson not even in the frame for the exiles ? At least Rovers will have a full week to prepare for leeds with no disruption so at least I can take some comfort there & can do somthing else Friday as I wont be watching the match.

in a ideal world the 'A' side (knights) should be playing either wales or france as a curtain rasier to fridays game



quite the opposite actually the full side will benefit loads from having a tough battle rather than a half d hit out against france



development for who? the full england side have gained nothing in hammering the french mid season the past 3-4 years....we are penciled in to play them at the end of the season,it gives us a hit out before the 4 nations and the french are likely to be at full strength,injuries permitting...a win/win for both sides...french are also gonna play the knights,scotland & samoa iirc...the french will learn far more about their game in those series of games than they would sticking out a half strength side mid season against england .



i think what alot of people are also forgetting is the injuries we got while on tour...

i think we are heading in the right direction in regards to the players.....whats letting us down is McNamara...in fact i'd sack him and give the job to nathan brown
