I was hoping Leon would help us out in the Championship next year, naymind. A strange signing IMO for Hull FC, he's on great form at the moment but is well known to blow hot and cold. Sneyd, if confirmed, needs to kick on and show he's not a one-season wonder. I can't wait to keep tabs on these two get on. And they're British too... blimey!

Marc Sneyd to Hull (not Castleford!) confirmed on GMR this morning. Three year deal (I think). They're reporting an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £100,000.

£100,000 when the kid had a year left on his contract. Not sure who got the best out of this deal.

Good luck to Marc, Gutted it's not to Cas as he's really settled.

£100'000 is far too much for a player who's only had 12 good months, and will only have 12 months left on a deal there.

I can't help but think Koukash has had everyone's pants down here, £112'500 for Chase, An international former Man of Steel with 2 years left on a contract of £180'000 a year. And yet recieves this fee for Sneyd.


I would be wary, Leon Pryce isn't the perfect fit for Marc though, They're both strike players, he needs an organizer upsides him IMO.

But I wish him, and Hull FC all the best.

£120k for Sneyd from what I've been told... Seems a bit much but, this is Hull so it's hardly a surprise.
So that's Pryce, Sneyd and Taylor signed for next season, 3 good signings there.

The only person with his pants down is Koukash, look at the league table.

Couple more to be announced also so hopefully the weaknesses we have had this year will be addressed.

Its a good start

Think the transfer fee just shows how desperate we are for a half of some quality. There haven't been many better than Sneyd this year, we just need to hope he carries the form on into next season and beyond.
We've lost a few close games this year where goal kicking has made a difference, so it's great to have a reliable kicker (we've gone through Crooks, Whiting, Miller, Rankin, Westerman and Abdull for goal kicking duties this year!).

Leon Pryce will be a big miss for Dragons. Gutted he is going.

But pleased with his contribution to our cause.

I can't see it being 100K for Sneyd, I wonder if theres some mixing up of the message via the jungle tom toms and part of that fee is for Taylor to move from Wigan.

What are people basing their opinions of Marc Sneyd on? I keep reading how he has had a fantastic year, he hasnt, he's had a 'decent' 6 months. Obviously his goal kicking is phenominal and because of this IMO gets hyped up much more than he should do.

As a Salford fan I'm astounded we've received such a large fee for the kid, I expected it to be less than half what is being reported. Great business from Koukash who has shown he isnt just capable of buying, but also negotiating great sales.

I must admit I havent paid too much attention to Hull FC this season, but if it's an excellent kicker they're desperate of he'll be worth every penny.

it says on our website (either there or Hull Daily Mail) that's he's 3rd in the charts for try assists this year. Haven't checked myself to validate that but it's pretty impressive if true considering it's his first full season!
I don't know where any of our current halves sit on the table (and we've used about 7!) But I imagine they're not in the top 10.
The kid will improve us a lot hopefully.
and as you mention goal kicking, I've listed in my above post that we have used 6 (possible even more if I've forgotten any) kickers so far this season! That's how inconsistent we are.

Hindsight is a great thing, time will only tell (like it does with every deal) who has got the best end of the deal. If Sneyd comes to Hull develops into the England 7 and makes us into a top 4 team, then its 100k well spent and Koukash will look stupid for throwing money away at players when he already had the tools at his disposal.

On the other hand he could get injured or just not work out at all and we look very silly for throwing large amounts of money at him. It is a gamble but in Hull's situation you can see why we have done it, in need of a goal kicker and a scrum half. We have signed one who is young and yet to go into his prime, we could end up with the answer to our long term problem of needing a half back.

I think it is his goal kicking which has sealed the deal though, we have dropped a lot of points by not having one. We could have won on Sunday if we had a reliable goal kicker, the table doesn't lie but if you look at the F and A column we actually have a plus difference of over 100 points. We just lose the close games as we have not had a reliable kicker, so that in itself is worth the punt.

A more concerning note would be we have two owners here in Koukash and Pearson who have thrown money into the game, just makes me wonder what they could achieve if they actually appointed decent coaches!
