Aside from the ground why else would you kick Wakey or Cas out? Both have reasonable finances, reasonable jnr development programmes and mid sized crowds. Salford would be at far more risk than either of those two imo.

Add the two reasonable sides together and you may get a good one.

Was watching our game against Bradford last night, couldn't believe how much Eddie Hemmings put us over, from what he said I think the likes of him & Stevo are truly won over with us been in SL.





Two Hull clubs in SL is good for the league, don't think that can be denied. Any time a new record is set for a weekend of total attendances/averages, it's always the same weekend as a Hull derby.

Calm down dear, it was a response to the suggestion that Cas and Wakey should merge, btw would you have gone for a merger when you were languishing in the NL, given your crowds and performance aren't what they are now? Just sayin'.

Oh right, fair dues (wasn't flying off handle or anything, was just my opinion). Never believed in mergers full stop, think they're a daft idea. Cas & Wakefield should always remain independent. Drives me nuts when say Wakey get criticised for home crowds, but then they still get more then the likes of Quins, who rarely seem to get knocked.

Love going to both The Jungle & Hearwell, hope they always keep their own identities and keep the rivalry with each other alive. They're both RL hotbeds for a start (e.g. not competing in their area with other sports).

When the Hull merger talk was going on in the mid-90's I couldn't have been anymore against it. Would rather us have ended up sharing with an amateur club/ground then merged with Hull. Thank God it never happened.

But you will probably get one really crap one on a gates of 3k at best.

So you can see why supporters of Cas and Wakey get narked when people say they should merge. Our rivalry is just as intense as any in SL.

They have the 4th-worst crowds in the SL and always have had around the worst?
They're within 20miles of 4 other SL clubs?
They don't turn over more than £4m? (Not sure about this one).

Not really. Don't both clubs consider Leeds as their biggest game? The most intense games are where both clubs consider the other as their biggest rivals.

I can't speak for others but I see Wakey as a more intense game just for the sake of local bragging rights as per any other SL 'derby' game.

Leeds fans like to think we care about them because we always play well against them. I see Wakefield as the true derby - even more so when there's been something at stake like there has been in the past.

Someones been looking at the licensing criteria for last time.



On the face of it, if Cas, Wakey and Salford all got their stadiums, Salford would be in the weakest position IMO.

However, if it came down to being between Wakey and Cas, Cas would beat Wakey on most aspects at the moment - attendances, youth development, how far advanced we are with the stadium, current position* (subject to change).

On the basis of all criteria, Wakey would also be ahead of Crusaders and Harlequins

There is no way the RFL will put the Crusaders and Harlequins in the Championship.
For me it's a three way toss up between Cas,Wakey and Salford.

Plenty of reasons to kick out everybody

Leeds , dump of a ground and highly ' smug ' fans

Cas , dump of a ground that the RFL changed their own criteria to allow back into SL , not to mention Homophobic fans



Warrington , perennial underachievers who now because they finally managed to win something , think they are something special

Quins , Sky's golden balls , if they arent in SL the world will come to an end

Bradford , playing in a volcanic crater that you need binoculars to watch , also for having go karts and cheerleaders running across the pitch when they scored

Wakey , block of flats



Salford , playing in weaste , and being unable to build up the sport locally for decades

Giants , W1g4ns cast off reserve team

Crusaders , Gateshead thunder mark 2 , team full of aussies that have somehow got into SL without applying for a franchise , will last another season or 2 before being replaced with Toulouse in 2012/3

Catalans , not a problem , but they have problems of their own

Hull FC , Hull KR

Hull KR , Hull FC

Saints , will be spending the next 3 seasons ' on the road '

Reasons for all , but none of them reason enough to be ' dumped out ' by a selection panel

Boring club that nobody wants to watch unless it's free , that is held up purely on the finance of one person , that plays in a stadium 3 times too big for it , and has a load of ex w1g4n players playing for it

If "crusaders" go bust again then they should definitely go, they will be at risk if the criteria are applied evenly

imo cast and wakey will both be sent down not that they deserve it but the stadium issue will see them both go.

i would like halifax to come up but i think realistically the rfl wont let them as they are 2 close to us bulls and rhinos

The starting point for the next round of assesments must surely be:

"What did you promise to deliver last time around?"

"What have you actually delivered?"
