| I was in the Kop yesterday, and I heard a few people talking about the game who were sat near me...they were obviously at their 1st RL match...and they absolutely loved it. I got the impression they were RU types....couple of Irish people as well. THIS is what the game needs to expand. Competitive international fixtures on a regular basis with good quality players on show.
GB v Aus every 2 or 4 years for the Ashes needs to be brought back IMO as well as regular internationals involving the home nations v south hemisphere.

| For the 3rd test, I would move Connor and Makinson to the right (it is their natural side), and put Percival and Johnstone to the left. With potentially no games next year, it would be a good opportunity to see if they have the necessary quality to prove themselves at international level

I’d stick with the team if fit and go all out for the whitewash. Incidentally, as I have said on here before we should always beat NZ. It’s been embarrassing in recent times to be beaten by them.

| The thing that pleased me about Connor, in a pre match interview, was his positivity when discussing his role and the expectations. No use of that dreaded (negative?) word "hopefully" that so many players scatter their language with these days.

Connor told the Hull Daily Mail that Bennett gave him a rocket at half time, and that spurred him on. To be fair i'd be scared of an angry Wayne Bennett too!

| I’d go with the same injuries/suspension permitting. Whilst a good win yesterday still room for improvement, can’t say we were great in that first half and if not for Makinson’s 2 try savers we could’ve be trailing 18-2.
Makinson was pretty much a 10/10, if he was only an 8/10 that’s probably a NZ win so I’d challenge the same lineup to be even better next week. We’ve had two close scores with great individual tries bring the decider, I think there’s the potential for them to go out and win more convincingly by a couple of scores if they get things right from the off and maintain it.
I’d imagine Clark won’t be fit though so Greenwood would come in for me and Milner can back up hooker. If George Burgess is suspended then with no more forwards I’d pick O’Loughlin if fit but if not that leaves Ratchford on the bench for utility value.

| Definitely same line up or close as is possible. We are building real momentum and to beat this kiwi side 3-0 with a few world class players missing makes a big statement.

| Gildart wasn't quite on the same page as the rest of the team at the weekend, Bennett dropped Percival when he did something similar so I would expect him to do likewise with Gildart and give the 3rd test gig to Percival.

Can't see it, Gildart made a few errors in the first half yes, but his defence was solid enough and after the first test i reckon Bennett will give him another go.
For some reason he doesn't seem to rate Percival and the fact he picked a forward ahead of him at the WC and Connor during this series speaks volumes.

Connor had a poor first half defensively, he was much improved in the 2nd half. I’d bring in Percival for Connor after that 1st half performance. O’loughlin to come back in for Milner if fit. Everyone else keeps their place, stick with the winning side.

| I thought Gildart (particularly), Connor, Lomax & Williams were all poor first half. I would be happy enough with any of them dropped. I don’t understand what Bennett’s issue is with Percival; with Watkins out he is easily the best centre talent we have. We are weak at HB & FB in depth, so am not sure what better options we have other than Myler to SH & Tomkins to FB. Or Ratchford to FB, Tomkins to SO.

| I thought Lomax had his best game for England. Saying that I think we need to be setting the bar a little higher in the full back department.
Gildart had a few mistakes in the first half but ironed them out for the second half.
I think Connor has really taken his chance at this level. I think he set the bar high In the mile high game and the first test. He had a quiet in the first half but wasn't poor and had a very good second half.
This 3rd test would have been ideal for Danny Richardson and having him around would have boosted our half back options. I thought Williams has done well and is easily our best defensive half back. I thought Tomkins has improved at 7 over the two tests and would improve much more playing there week in week out.
With Widdop and Gale to come back into the frame I would say our half back options are very strong.
For me Percival is good on a weekly basis but can get shown up in the big games. Watkins made a fool out of him early on last year and he was poor in challenge cup semi and playoff semi.
Gildart and Connor seem to step up in the big games.

| Ok, Connor mightn't have had a great 1st half but dropping him, come on? Surely the thing to do is to develop him further by continuing to play him at a better level than he's used to.

| Makinson was the obvious star because of the service he got whereas McGilvery was used as a prop, a little variation would have helped. Can nobody pass to the right?
Keeping the same team would be a missed opportunity to play some of the squad players.

| Bennett won't be dropping anyone. The only chnages will be due to injury. He says test jerseys have to be earnt and won't be given away in order to be nice. I refer you to my signature.

Connor can pass to the right, and I think is more of a natural Right Centre, than a Left Centre.

We did pass to the right but we kept dropping the ball and dying with the ball, from memory Gildart dropped the ball 3 times Bateman twice and Bateman went solo a couple of times. On the left side it was far more productive with Connor and Whitehead not much dropped ball and were a bit deeper in the attacking line. Williams had more options for a cut out pass on that side as well.
I always find momentum is lost when Bateman can't offload and goes through an arm wrestle routine.

| Being fair to McGilvray he’s played well. Makinson has been superb but in a way he’s been forced to be. NZ have been avoiding kicking to Jerry with at a guess 90% of kicks heading towards Makinson. All teams tend to be better moving the ball to the left. I think those two combined helped give Makinson the opportunity to shine. He certainly has taken it.

Definitely seemed to be an NZ tactic kicking that way, I don't know if they fancied their winger in the air on occasions or was just testing Makinson out. Thought they might have tried the other way after he'd taken it safely so many times.

| Talk of ‘dropping’ players like Connor, Lomax, Gildart or Williams blows my mind! The level of perfection some people want is astonishing! All four have had some tough moments in this series but have played huge parts in us leading a really good Kiwi side 2-0. In tough, tight games mistakes will be made but it’s how these guys have bounced back that gives them the most credit.
Thankfully Wayne Bennett will keep going with his method of continuity bit we could win an Ashes series 3-0 and people would still pick fault.

Totally agree with regards to Connor, Lomax and Williams but, Gildart, after being the hero of the first test had a shocker last week, an absolute stinker of a game but, I think that barring injuries/suspensions it will be "as you were" and go for a whitewash.

He made a couple of poor errors in the first half but bounced back pretty well in the second half. Most of the play went down the left granted so there wasn’t much impact with the ball but we can’t speak about dropping him after the performance he put in at Hull. I obviously watch him week in week out and Sunday is the first time I’ve ever seen him make a few silly errors in one game, he’s usually really dependable.
He deserves another crack IMO.
