If Hull get it for Dawson only playing 1 game, Wigan should apply for it to retroactively apply to Manfredi who played 0 games in 2017, meaning we didn't exceed the cap.

Manfredi played in Wigan's reserve team in 2017 where he picked up another injury - so no cigar on that one.

IIRC he played less than 1 full reserve game, so if Hull can have it for 1 Super League game, surely we can have it for 1 reserve game.




I can't fully remember, but I think Wigan got some kind of dispensation in 2005 for Luke Davico's season ending injury after 5 minutes of preseason. But you know what the RFL are like with consistency & logic.

We didn’t get it in 2016 either when Shenny was injured minutes into the first game of the season and was out for the full season. Plus, that was from an illegal tackle that saw the tackler get a ban. There has to be a line somewhere but, as I’ve said before, I don’t agree with any dispensations - that’s what a squad is for.
