more like 6 last year and 7 this year i think.
only half the competition.
wgian and warrington clearly have teams that can win SL.
Hull FC too and maybe bradford.
saints are getting weaker and Leeds are having their moment in the sun.
in the nrl every club spends the full cap or close to it.

except wigan and warrington clearly dont have teams who can win SL, hence the reason they were soooooo far behind Leeds and Saints, Hull FC finished next to bottom and bradford were closer the year before than last year
it was said by the rfl last year that 8 were spending the SC, this year it will be 10 with all spending within 80%

nope because it allows richer clubs to spend more on players.
for the cap to work properly it has to be a fixed amount which all clubs can spend.
enjoy your time in the sun.
the best result for RL though is for a new club to knock you guys off soon.
and not st helens or bradford either.
Hull FC would be nice, or warrington or huddersfield.
clubs with no recent success and where a SL GF would make them grow quite a lot

looking at the teams on paper for the season just finished i thought wigan and warrington were stronger than leeds or saints.
with warrington it was clearly the coach and wigan seem to struggle with the pressure of living up to past glories.
bradford have until recently been winning the SL GF.
on paper Leeds squad isnt much better than warrington or wigan.
and Hull FC have loads of injuries.
it could take a couple of years for Leeds to be knocked off their perch.
when it happens it will be good for RL.
and 10 clubs spending the full cap, thats fantastic.
for the other 4 clubs, spending up to 20% less than the rest is too big of a gap.

It's a question of what do you want out of a salary cap? Do you want a system (as the RFL appear to do) which encourages a levelling of the competition and sound financial management by clubs, or do you want the NRL system which seeks to chop down the tall poppies by bringing everyone down to the lowest common denominator in terms of what they can pay?

Leeds monopolizing RL would do nothing for the game.
theyve had on field success.
the key will be keeping their crowds up when the form starts to dip. you wouldnt want to see crowds falls as large as have happpened at bradford.
and further redevelopment of headingly will be required.

If you think that's what he meant, then you're either thick or deliberately misunderstanding for trolling purposes.
Reaching the depths Leeds did provided an opportunity for someone with business nouse to acquire control of the club and put it on a sound footing both on and off the field.
Very little of Paul Caddick's money has been directly invested in the Rhinos. Caddick underwrote the clubs debts which the club itself then paid off through increased revenues. If Caddick walked away tomorrow, the club would survive as it is financially self sufficient. That to me is not the definition of a "sugar daddy".

the percentage turnover rule does not allow for the competition to be evened.
the richer clubs will always spend more on players.
if you dont think SL clubs finances are much better now than 10 years ago, then you need help.

clearly the cap hasnt been working as the same teams have been dominating.
assuming teams arent cheating, then as more clubs have more money to spend on players, then saints and leeds will have to lose players to other clubs which will mean they will get weaker.
its very effective in the nrl.
