I've no idea why Wakwfield were told they would be relegated if they went into admin and it is wrong if they were told that.

The precedent has been set and we have to have consistency!
If Wakey faced relegation, so should Bulls and anyone else using admin as a way out of financial mismanagement.

Yeah, this "offer" of half the central funds, it seems that it was pretty much offered in the same way your valuables are offered to a mugger.

You do realise Wakefield also benefitted from the RFL not setting a precedent. They seem to always forget that they stayed in SL when they went into admin and also got a license after they PROMISED to make improvements on their stadium. Reducing capacity is not improving it.
Anyway as far as I am aware the rules on admin are 6 points deduction reduced depending on willingness to pay creditors.
Have you any articles or statements regarding the RFL saying Wakey been told they would be relegated if they went into admin as I don't remember seeing anything. Cheers!

| The chairman of the club announced it himself at a fans forum.
I would think a 6 point penalty would be appropriate, but how does that stand with the precedent set?
There has to be consistency. And remember, the RFL leadership announced that, as a part of the whole game review, that penalties for financial mismanagement should by MORE punitive!

Fair enough. If there's nothing in the rules of kicking a team out though then it's not going to happen.

I don't do Chinese whispers and Chairmen will say anything to supporters (look at the Bulls) so the Chinese whispers do not set a so call precedent.
The only Precedent set is the ones we have where clubs have been in Admin and they have always been points deductions.
There is a difference also between admin and liquidation.
I've checked the rules and there is nothing about administration that I can find.
But interestingly the appendicies are missing???

| Don't the new company have to apply to take over the bulls licence? If this is the case then the application could be refused and the bulls relegated.
However the RFL appear to have propped them up until the eve of the new season to make any notion of demoting them out of the question.

Why is it different for the Bulls?'"
Because apparently they have 'iconic status' (that means ramming bull mania down everyones throats and winning a few titles in the early 0's).
Apparently the game will be in oh such a terrible state if they weren't in super league, we just can't do without them.
Not a week goes by they aren't dragging rugby league into the new for all the wrong reasons.
GET RID.

There are no rules to say if a club enters admin they will be relegated. License rules aren't been applied this year and if they were then Wakey would be following us out with their stadium situation.
Still keep frothing at the mouth.

| Can someone please point out the rule that states a team in administration should be demoted. Until you do, saying it does not make it so, no matter how much you want it.

Unfortunately unless we're relegated to the pennine leagues the childish "iconic" posts will still appear. I don't think any bulls fan (apart from one or two) has an issue with points deduction.

| They should be deducted points, which will increase chance of relegation and thus being demoted.
People don't literally mean they should be kicked out, but they should be penalised (which will increase the chances of the above happening).
When people say things like ''get rid''. What they mean is, penalise them, and let nature take it's course in getting rid.

| There isn't a precedent set by which a club entering Administration are demoted but there probably would be if Wakefield had gone into Administration last August.
I don't want the Bulls kicked out of SL but whomever it was at the RFL who informed Wakefield that they'd be demoted if they went into Administration ought to explain their actions.
The precedent set is as stated earlier, if you enter Administration you are subject to a 6pt deduction which can be reduced to 4pts depending on your payment of the former company's creditors.

I agree with this. Unfortunately the usually 'quick to answer questions' Chairman at wakey is unusually quiet on the matter. I'd really like to hear what he thinks about this and whether he intends to make public the details of the alleged conversation with the RFL where Wakefield were told they would be relegated should they enter administration.

Really?
You aren't looking in the right place then.
He tweeted today that Wakefield will clear their debts in a honest manner - a clear dig at the Bulls ducking their obligations again.
Marian Koukash tweeted in agreement at the suggestion that Odsal should be dumped.

| Mr Koukash would say the sky is Blue if it gets Salford the press he wants.
I think we have all learned to take him with a pinch of Salt, only he alone knows what he truely thinks. He says a lot in public just to up the PR of Salford. And so he should, but I take it as seriously as I take anything I read in the Sun.

I haven't seen the tweet but I don't think a tweet in the direction of the Wakefield chairman is quite the press he wants, needs, craves or desires.
However,it does seem that 'HMRC Liabilities' and 'Special Measures' do not apply to Bradford Bulls.

I don't know if the following link relates to the Watkins Review and whether or not it has to be ratified by the RFL or the Super League clubs, but 6 points may not be the limit.

I think every team but my team should have a 12 point penalty, just because it would be convenient for my team. Bradford should also take over responsibility of paying for my teams players wages as part of the debt agreement, and my team should get first refusal of any player brought through there academy in the next 100 years.
It seems this thread came to agreement, a 4/6 point penalty is appropriate in the circumstance, that should be the end of it, but now people are just fantasising about what else they'd like to inflict upon them.
