I'm all for aspirational targets and all, but a certain element of realism has to be applied, surely?

There was a touch of exaggeration, of course there is, but I think it'd be a good 10-15 years at the very least before a Welsh team would be truly ready to step up to the top level.

Anyway, that's concentrating on a by-product of my main point in that the Crusaders fans should form their own club to ensure that their area is still represented, but instead of chasing the Super League buck and relying on a benefactor, they should concentrate on becoming a community club and ensure any success is on a sustainable basis.

What precedent leads you to believe that moving an SL club around the country would be an attractive proposition for anyone? Particularly since the next round of licence applications will intervene and a nomadic club would have a very hard time ticking boxes against the criteria.

Unfortunately, I think they're already in this bracket given it will be their third different ground in two seasons.

The day that everyone realises we need to be sitting somewhere in the middle (i.e. somewhere at x) is the day that rugby league will progress quickest! Because then we have a little something for everyone!

Agree completely and on this main forum all the most extreme people tend to be to the right of that (unlike on some individual club forums or the old rugbyleague.org site)

And the reason for that being most of them tend not to have a club to follow, or aren't that bothered about them that much.
The most of the pro heartlands lot tend to be more insular about it and whinge amongst themselves about how everyone is trying to ruin the game and they don't like change.

I think we need a name for the people that sit in the middle! You argue with one and they call you the other when we are not either of them.

I could support the Eskimos, it matters not.

Celtic were not ready for SL, are not ready not ready for SL, and will not be ready for SL until someone further up the foodchain than me and you looks at it properly.

Relying on a bloke who has form for throwing his toys out of the pram to run a club younger than some of my underpants, with a team full of imports, in a RU heartland that has had numerous RL failures in the past was a recipe for disaster if it wasn't done properly. I know it, you know it, my favorite Eskimo's know it, and now bit by bit it's being proven.

If RFL and SL monies have to fund it by say £3m a year for the next 5 or 10 years then so be it, bring it on - stop dancing around and hiding behind the farcical bull@hit they have generated and do it properly, out in the open for all to see.

"We need expansion and the game is going to pay for it". Lets see just how big their balls are and how much SL clubs [ireally[/i want expansion then.

I'd say we're certainly in danger of it if the move to Wrexham is confirmed (as now seems likely). However, the implication that they would roam at will outside of Wales is what I had a problem with.

Not really much of an excuse, is it? Not for adults anyway.
