Whilst it may be nice in your magical musical kingdom where we have plenty of people looking to pay out huge sums of money to indefinitely keep clubs from all over the country in the semi-pro game in the real world it isnt happening, the evidence for this is the fact it is not happening'"
So if a club isn't viable in the Championship or Championship 1 we promote them to Super League instead? I must have missed that aspect of the licencing process.
The SL money isn't going to go far between 30+ clubs.
By that logic, should we also kick out top flight clubs who shown signs of being financially sound (assuming any such can be found)?

that really is a spectacular attempt at missing the point, well done there
with a very odd leap of logic in there too

So true. hilarious really.
TBF though, they are probably the only club that would have benefited from relegation.

It really wasn't a hard point to miss.
When a UK based basketball team has a bigger profile than you then you have a profile equal to zilch
Instead of having small man syndrome and picking up on a technicality on our opinions of how big Chesters RL community is, why not debate the point if you have a counter argument?
Jesus and they call us kids of today thick.
EDIT: I'd actually reach New Zealand, to dig to australia i'd have to have started somewhere in the middle of the atlantic. Do you working class lot not have an ability to map read

Reality check here big boy : someone picked you up on a basic factual error - a big fat one, not a 'technicality'.
Instead of showing a bit of good grace and maturity - a simple 'oops' perhaps - you have wriggled, squirmed and spun like a demented silkworm and now you're resorting to patronising insults.

No, you'd end up somewhere in the Pacific if you want to get technical. But you must know that by now since you are nearly there.

| Okay, this name calling has got a bit sad.
I called it bare bones picking because it didnt really have any influence on the original point.
I know about the gladiators, i corresponded with that fella who set it up as I was curious about attending. But considering I know kids from sporting backgrounds in the area, including semi pro footballers who didn't know rugby league existed as a sport, their profile is minute. That isn't a discussion point, Chester has almost no (I changed it for you) Rugby League profile, a professional club based down the road, if it saw fit, could possibly change that especially with the football club being pants.

Unfortunately, that is why it has failed. The only real logic that can be found here is that we promoted a club because the chairman wasn't willing to stick around in the Championship (where they should have stayed it seems). Now that the times have gotten hard (only in the space of a year) he is looking to leave anyway. It was a choice, it would appear, of he goes now or he goes later. Any club under this leadership would not add to SL, and has unfortunately damaged its reputation (as well as that of the RFL).
In the future, I would hope that the RFL are not so desperate for expansion that we crumble to the wishes of demanding chairmen who are not willing to stick around in the lower leagues, as it appears they don't want to stick around in the SL either when the times get hard.

Exactly. This is a guy that we know will stick around, but the RFL have gone for the one that has pretty much said he won't stick around if... and now looks to be jumping out now anyway!

Interesting to see which way they'll jump. On the one hand, I'd bet they'd think it was too far to travel and there won't be many away fans from Wales. On the other, they want more fixtures. If precedent is anything to go by, they'll say ok, as long as the new club doesn't get a fair share of any central funds.

I can't see why they would vote against it to be honest. There aren't that many clubs in Championship 1 who take many fans to away games as it is so I don't think that would count against a new Welsh club.
There was talk of possible dual registration of players between any new club and the Crusaders.

But the 'story' doesn't actually add anything we didn't know days ago and which has already been said on this thread.

You are correct though in saying that Wrexham as a town has closer links to Chester than say Widnes or Warrington, so I do see where you are coming from.

Up to 4 dual reg signings are allowed, they must be under 23 years of age and outside the top 20 earners in Super League iirc.

Think it's 3 dual reg signings and a maximum of four total dual reg and loan players at any one time.

Wrexham is the big local derby for Chester City though. If the Chester City fans I know are typical, they're far more likely to be making the trip to Warrington, Saints or Widnes than to ever support a team from Wales.
Chester City won't disappear - the ground is council owned and once they can shake off Stephen Vaughan they'll be able to start afresh.

| I wasnt necessarily talking direct support, more establishing a profile.
My mates have been out of school a couple of years now so it could have changed but as of 2 or 3 years ago in the various chester schools they attended Rugby League wasnt played, didn't even know it existed.
This a city about 25 miles from heartlands.
They may hate each other in theory but all the wrexham kids go to chester for nights out, wrexham kids often go to school in chester (along with places like frodsham, Helsby and so on, places next to the heartlands with no RL influence), socialise together etc It was just a thought, it didnt need the pedantic brigade
