If a Wigan fan had posted that I’d take it, but a Saints fan... and YOU!
The masters of choking in semi finals and disrespecting the rest of the league and making the sport look stupid by not celebrating winning the LLS, the only club in world sport who don’t celebrate winning a league yet still keep losing in semi finals?
and from a poster who goes missing for days when his stupid know-nowt predictions and comments materialise as wildly inaccurate and a liar of a man to boot - “I’ll leave this site for good if Wakey make the top 8”...?
You’ve made my morning a little easier after last night knowing I’m not you!

| A game that went very much to script.
Tight, aggressive, few scoring chances and a Wigan win, which they deserved.
Hill was immense for Wire and is unlucky to be on the losing side and the game was won with the bit of extra quality that Wigan had in the halves (plus Tomkins & O'loughlin).
Warringtons halves were very, very poor and they looked a little clueless in Wigan's 20.
The best team won.

Charnley dove in the corner and Williams did a soft leap over him and slid down the shallow embankment, Tomkins slides parallel to Charnley but doesn't touch him or go anywhere near him, they go to ground because the embankments are shallow at OT. I suggest you watch it again, but this time watch it without your anti Wigan glasses

You're funny!
You've lost both semi finals! Are you saying you'd rather lose 2 semis than 2 finals?
Did you watch the game in the Lake District, or do you just stay up there when saints play their important games?

That is a strange one I Guess it is all about expectation and how you experience a final.
I remember our loss to wire at Wembley as being one of my worst RL experiences since following Huddersfield. I have seen us lose by 80 points but never felt as deflated as that day at Wembley .
At the end of the day I am a bit like Roy Keane and how he felt about winning. Their is only one winner and lots of losers. Losing in the first round the semi or the finals still makes you a loser. Only winning matters.
The advantage of being a loser in the first round is that you save money before you are a loser in the final.

You’re right, I got Tomkins and Williams mixed up. However Williams didn’t leap over him at all.
What reason did Williams go down onto his knees for? All he had to do was slow down and step to his right.
The only reason for going onto his knees is to go into the attackers legs with his knees. It’s a tactic used by many defenders across many clubs.
Anti-Wigan glasses?

Speaking from experience losing in big finals is much harder to take than losing in semi finals. Wire are fully badged up now as "serious Chokers" with 4 grand final losses and two big final losses in the same season on 2 occasions.
Most teams really struggle to put 2 or 3 big games together in wins and Wire are definitely one of them. Have they lost something like 8 from 11 from the other top 3 teams this year.
However you can rest with the thought that the more Grand Finals you lose the closer you will get to winning one, Wire fans just need to stop predicting its going to happen on an annual basis.

Warrington fans predicting that were going to win SL on an annual basis, JM, where do you get that from? There's no basis for us to do it, other than a Rubber Duckie wind up. It seems more to do with Eddie Hemmings who brings up the phrase "will it finally be their year" at least half a dozens times in the matches we feature in on Sky. You can call us guilty for believing that we'll win it one day, but accusing us of a prediction of us winning SL year on year is just plain daft.

We did the same in 2017 and it didn't stop us from getting to the two finals in 2018. It's a bit early for lamenting the demise of the Rhino's. Every side in SL has had difficulty in replacing players with the same quality, for the reasons that have been long debated (and still are) and standards have dropped across the board. This has resulted, for me, in the game being far less skillful and attractive than it use to be. It also gives a SL where, other than London Broncos who are hampered by having championship standard squad, it will be very difficult to predict the top four.
The top four being the criteria for competing for the prize of SL champions.

I distinctly remember it reached epidemic proportions in the season Chris Sandow was on the rosta. There are around 4 posters on this forum and an endless number in the offices at BNFL Birchwood. You really need to get that Monkey off Your Back once the team does that fans will appreciate its value and not assume they have the best team to become champions.

An epidemic proportions of 4 posters? I cannot comment on BNFL as I don't work there. However, they must be giving you plenty of opportunity to be highly amused by them. As I said before, it's Eddie Hemmings who continually brings up the monkey, and Wire supporters on here (with the exception of maybe 4 as you state) are well aware of how much a challenge it is to win a GF. We've been aspiring to pick up the trophy since Sky re-introduced playoffs for it, and missed out on it by the narrowest of margins under the league format.
At the end of the day, unless you wear the cherry and white or blood and gold, we're in the same boat of a season ending in disappointment.
Onwards and upwards for 2019.

Chokers are clear favourites who don’t win, not the rank outsiders who manage to embarrass the favourites on their own patch and with no real expectation to win the final anyway.
From those last four finals I think Hull had a better side than us at Wembley, Wigan had a better squad than us at OT twice and Catalans had a better squad than us in August (none of our halfbacks or back row get into Catalans team!).
Plus it was Eddie and Stevo from the Sky team who predicted Wire to win it every year from about 2007-2013, where the saying/song comes from, not the fans.

I really don't understand why Wire signed Kevin Brown, he's competent most of the time, but not the creative force to take a team from contender to champion.

Panic buy after sandow left us in the , we needed a scrum half and signed a stand off that really REALLY didn't fit in with the way we play.
Tyrone roberts has copped a lot of flak this year, and rightly so considering he's on a load of money, and messed us around and hasn't looked happy since day one(thats another discussion though) brown has flown under the radar and stood well out of the way. I reached peak ed offness during the defeat at st helens in july, there was all the fluffing of drop goals from roberts and ratchford, brown was waaaaaay out in the centres, proper hiding. Can't be doing that as a senior half.

In the super league era Saints have been in 18 finals and only lost 6, Leeds and Wigan have each lost 8 finals in the same period. Wire need to come back in about 5 years to be anywhere near comparative having to date been in 9 finals and lost in 6 finals.

And how about in the last 10 seasons? Where Saints have appeared in just 4 finals, losing 3 and winning 1 against 12 men.
By comparison Wigan have appeared in 9 finals and won 6. And Leeds have appeared in 10 finals and won 7. And Warrington have appeared in 9 finals and won 3.
Saints have the same finals win ratio as Warrington.
It would seem daft for fans of a team who couldn’t make it to a final to take the mick out of a team that did.
Especially as Saints won nothing this year as well.
