Briscoe - Proven quality
Wellens - Proven quality
Tansey - Lots to prove
Owen - Needs to make the position his own to prove how good he can be
Halley - Lots to prove
Mathers - Looked to be hitting some form for Wigan
Blaymire - When on form, very good, needs to be consistent
Melling - Does a decent job
All IMO of course

The comment applies to pretty much every English full back.
There's plenty of reliable full backs but no one who offers a real threat. I'd say Owen is the best of a pretty bad bunch atm.

I agree 100%
Briscoe is the best of what is available, but we don't know what the up and coming players can do.

next year will be a massive year for richie owen,we all saw the potential in rich in the play off game at wigan and that was playing in pain with a bad ankle injury.
im sure most cas fans hope richie gets the nod at full back has he has the potential to be world class, melbourne storm were very keen on signing him two years ago and matterson believed at 17 he was a better player than billy slater at the same age, thats a big billing to live up to and although he will only be 20 it will be his 3rd full super league season and this is the season he needs to establish himself has a first choice fullback.

We hear this sort of thing often though, in the UK players just dont seem to develop to the same ability.
He's got bags of potential though, we'll see

| Quote ="General Zod."Yes, defininately have more depth this year.
Outs:
Esders - was on loan last season.
Stan - was a season too far for him last year.
Maka - had lost the "desire" to maintain his best standards.
Fozzard - good for the first half of last year but was finished by June.
Fitzhenry - a loss and we'll miss him IMO.
Ins:
Ratu - Leeds' Academy POTY
Hodgson - Hull's Academy POTY
Cook - Good young English player with bags of potential looking to reignite his career.
Watts - Genuine potential to be a world-class off-loading prop if he doesn't lose his focus.
The likes of Welham, I'Anson etc. have more experience and most of the players have loads of capacity for improvement.
We're a young, fit side with only Vella & Galea the wrong side of 30 and even the latter is a current SL Dream Team player.
At least one more front-rower wouldn't go a miss though but the season is stil 2 months away yet.'"
