You talk about Origin, but that only affects 34 players out of 200+, a lot of whom don't back up in their next club game. When the Broncos used to field the vast majority of the Queensland side you'd fully expect them to drop some or all of the games around all three Origin fixtures.

SL is a squad game and the Easter period is an exercise in squad management; if a coach chooses to field a team full of busted players on Easter Monday, that's his decision.

Before this just disintegrates even further into a B&W v R&W slanging match it would be good to recognise that there are plenty of English players & club people that are also far from happy at playing the Easter weekend fixture schedule & I imagine that if it wasnt for the fact that the clubs make money from the derbies & the demands of the TV sponsorship, the tradition would have gone a long time ago.

Peter Gentle was on Look North this morning, saying that we shouldn't have two games over Easter as the standard of the second game is poor.
