If they score lower on the criteria, then yes it would be fair. The RFL has to look out for the health of the game and that means maximizing both audiences and income so the game has the resources to prosper.

Good call on Bramley. Surely they deserve to be reinstated into the pro leagues. I know there are a lot of people that want to see new teams from expansive areas (including me) but a traditional team like Bramley does deserve to be included.

I'll answer it for you. Halifax arent even in the same universe in terms of current finances, and the history of crowd sizes or playing success just doesn't bear comparison either.

If the sport grows so that the Championship in 2020/30/40/whatever is bigger than SL is now, then no they will not. Which is the point. They are trying to grow the game, grow the revenues, grow everything so that the sport is bigger and it is better at all levels.

Every team in the NFL is a franchise awarded to an owner(s) based on a competitive bidding process. There was never any promotion from a lower tier, nor was there in any other North American pro sport -- there is no such thing as promotion and relegation here, never has been and never will be. It does not follow that there isn't a genuine sporting contest in these leagues, just ask their players about their training regimen and the competitive nature of their games. RL remains a very genuine sporting contest, and will remain so regardless of whether it has promotion and relegation.

But we aren't american and as such aren't used to this type of competition, Promotion and Relegation has (almost) always been part of UK sport.

SURLEY it should be performance on the field that decides this matter and a ground that meets SL spec, and same should go for every league below.

I think all sports teams should have ambitions of playing in the elite league in any sport, any club which dosn't have hopes to play with the best are simply a waste of time, what would be the point? Perhaps thats just my mentaility of sport, you play to win not to make up the numbers, and success should be rewarded with a chance to be the best.
