I think there's a thing called a salary cap in place that might have dictated our last few signings and also at the time he took over all the big names were tied down, let's wait and see what Pearson spends next season when he has time to work on it.

got to laugh at these dobbins, aspinwall may not be a world beater, he has been signed to bolster and add depth to our pack. i suppose we could have spent a few more weeks/months trawling the southern hemisphere for an unknown aussie/kolpack who nobody has heard of or nobody wanted in the nrl at the expense of english born player or up and coming youngster that was bragged about last season, no coincidence kr are stock piling on overseas now the latest round of franchising has been done. a fully fit kr squad will probably have 11 out of 17 non english. now which is the joke club?

Our youth development has been appauling tbh with Agar prefering to play 10 guys out of position than giving someone a debut but we have been promised by Pearson and Gentle that they will get a chance from now on.

The only regulars in that time have been Briscoe and Houghton. Lyne has had the odd chance and tbf Nicklas would have got a shot last year after playing 4 or 5 times in 2010 but he was out for just about the full year with a knee injury. Thats pretty much it. We do have some very useful looking kids in the squad though.

the last being houghton, criminaly agar wouldnt play or have the balls to give our youngsters a chance in the first team, up until agar took over we managed to produce our fair share, now with gentle in charge he is very focused on bringing the young players through

The thing is though, was he just not wanting to play the youngsters, or is the standard of youngster coming through your ranks not up to SL standard? Could of been a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation and it made more sense to play a 1st teamer out of position than put in a young lad who's going to be targeted and battered all game

Hopefully by the seasons end promising forwards like Green, Taylor, Cunningham, Cox and Pearce will have over taken the poor squad players like Aspinwall, Horne, O'hara, Lovegrove and show that the ageing overseas players can be replaced from within.
