Gutterfax, I normally have some support for your defence of RU as there is a definite chip in rugby league (but it is there for well documented historical reasons)
But in this case, if the Moroccan RU have involvement in this, you have to accept it's a Union thing. The IRB is the governing body. They are responsible and should be stepping in if their international teams are doing something like this.

For me it should be well publicised so that it stops this kind ofthing happening.

Reading the facts it's obvious that its just local politics at play, which happens in all sports and in all countries. To keep banging on about 1895 etc just smacks of having a victim mentality. Nobody has claimed some sort of high level international conspiracy involving the IRB, what has been claimed is that the RU organisation in Morocco has been conspiring with their government to actively disrupt and ban RL, for which there is significant evidence.

No I referred to league as a splinter organisation from union....set up in direct competition to union. Because union is still bigger and more popular, some league fans think whining like a girl makes union look smaller....it doesn't
I also said in my first post on this subject that I suspect it was a local spat and it seems i was right.....but don't let that fact get in the way of another troll hunt. The governing body of rugby union have slapped down the locals who acted outside their remit......but lets sweep that aside too.

If you read Gansons Opticians post on page 2 of this thread you will see he/she mentions 1895, so i'm guessing he/she is a union troll? And I'm not sure what you mean by significant evidence, evidence means something slightly more tangible than the hearsay and comments of a student and the tour manager. It may or may not be true but at best its weak unsubstantiated evidence that would get laughed out of court.

All of us on here agree, I think, that Rugby League is a fantastic sport to watch and (for those who are able) to play. So anything that helps more people avail of the game globally is a good thing. Amazing to hear that there are now four teams up and running in Morocco and that the problems mentioned on here appear to be well on course for resolution.

Pleased to read and helps recall seeing and being amazed by seeing Hussein M 'Barki's debut for Fulham in the inaugural game at Craven Cottage.

That article is from 2012. There are currently no teams 'up and running' because the sport has been banned by the Moroccan government.
