Agreed. A poor game, and the Sky pundits' attempts to talk it up were pathetic. As you say, only the closeness of the score would have kept any neutrals watching.

Yes, really. To be clear, Rovers were the better of two poor sides; I never said different. But poor it was. Later I watched the Cowboys take on the Broncos in the Queensland derby. Now there was a quality game of footie, with some great play in attack and defence by both sides. You might want it watch it to remind yourself what's good rugby league and what isn't (and don't get me wrong; I've watched some stinkers in the NRL this season too).

And I make no apologies for hoping that the rare opportunities for live rugby league on free-to-air TV produce a better game than that, whether they feature the team I support or not.

Not a great spectacle but a fantastic win for the Robins never the less! Cup games are often tight, tepid affairs as neither side wants to lose more than they want to win seemingly. Theres nowt' you can do about it, if a side turns up playing to avoid defeat rather then going all out to win, I actually thought KR played reasonably well, the Pies were very dissapointing.

I'll take a scrappy 16-12 win over a fast flowing, skilled entertaining 16-12 defeat every time.

No, because Wigan lost to a champion team that is going to go places fast if Todd Carney, Scott Dureau, John Zebolon Ta'ia and Morgan Escare are not injured. Wigan is a mediocre team, while Catalans at full strength is a champion team.

Hull KR put up a good fight against Leeds considering that they were without star players Albert Kelly, Dane Tilse, Mitchell Allgood, and Shaun Lunt. Moreover their goal kicker Joshua Mantellato was unable to convert any of their four tries. If he had been successful they would have been on 24 points and in the lead at half time. Hull KR were not disgraced against Leeds. In fact the Hull KR team should be proud of their performance given their dreadful injury problems.

Mantellato has been the goal kicker all year. A natural assumption is that he would have attempted the conversions against Leeds. So you tell us what happened then smarty pants.

Superstar Campese looked ordinary at best. Maybe he had an off night but looked like a one trick pony tbh.

All Campese does is hand the ball on. Rarely takes a tackle (daren't, probably). When he does get tackled, he niggles and pushes the defender, trying to start something.

Hull should do the same on Saturday. Hand on the face in the tackle, bit of heckle. Watch him collapse.

You've not watched him much have you? If all he does is hand the ball on then this half back game is easy and anyone can do it. Go watch the last derby game for a demonstration of how to hand the ball on with style and ability and then compare it to any of the last 56 half backs your lot have had. Loved his handing the ball of in that game when he handed it off to the grass over your try line

Campese is a decent player, even at this stage of his career, not a world beater but he certainly isn't the worst. Thought Rovers took it to Leeds, if they had kicked the goals I think it changes the game somewhat, enough to change the result who knows.

It has to be remembered that TC has been playing off/behind very little, to non existent forward domination this season.
