To be completely honest, when Fein's try was given, the weight of anxiety for most of the second half up to that point was lifted from my shoulders and I weirdly felt better. I expected to be filthy. Getting used to it maybe (Raiders, NSW, not so distant Kiwi wins from the past).

Absolutely tremendous game. I thought the highlights of the tournament at the end of the sky sports programme showed why rugby league is so great.

NZ nearly blew it with silly errors and poor play the balls but fair play to them, I think they were the better side overall.

It was a very physical affair and I'm sure there shall be some shattered bodies tomorrow. I thought NZ's first try from the Marshall pass wasn't as clear cut forward pass as some people make out. To me it left his hands on the line and he caught it on the line, maybe very marginally forward, Benji was leaning back to pass and then knocked back SKD was coming at some pace when he took it which could make it look more of a forward pass than it actually was.

Tony Archer is an awful ref, but awful both ways.

Australia is far far more 'American' then England dally, Kmart, Target, IGA, your road signs, houses are all American.




Again, LOL. In the last 5 years NZ have won 3 International titles, including a World CUp, Australia have won 2. NZ are the best team in the world get over it.

Anyway, on the game itself, I thought the first half was pretty poor from both sides. I think Australia lacked a 'spark' player (did lockyer play?) and I always had a bot of a felling that Marshall would pull the Kiwis through. Being a Tigers fan Marshall can frustrate me as I often think he doesn't get involved enough, but I'm wrong everytime, I truly think he is a very gifted player who knows when to get involved, and that alone is a special skill. Easily the best player in the world IMO.
