Totally agree! Keeping failing clubs which offer little to the greater game in the stitched up closed Box that's SL is a joke. When Quins RL are regularly fielding the most "British" starting 17 Alarm Bells should be ringing for the so-called Heartlands clubs like Wakey Bradford & Salford. Least Crusaders a giving a good spattering of young Welsh players a chance. How many yound British Players get a game in some SL teams? |

Ask anyone in the UK outside the M62 to name an English RL team and 90%+ will say one name........The period above was mostly pre-SKY so the only exposure the nation had to RL was the BBC.........and the BBC showed pretty much nothing but Wigan games.....Wigan winning the final (again)......that sort of 10 year dominance again would kill the sport.
SKY won't pull the plug........they want to control sports viewing across the globe and League gets more viewers in the UK than anything other than wendyball.........'"
so are you saying wigan,hull,leeds st helens,warrington should remain pro or join the semi pro ranks?. |

i dont foresee anything,they were just simple hypothetical questions.
you said SL would go semi pro,i asked,why should the bigger clubs go semi pro instead of remaining professional.thats all. |

the biggest 'porblem for SKY is the Catalans - they are contracted to cover two SL games from Perpignan each season which is a masive drain on their budget,that's why there are no games shown from TO13 in the Championship - the last thing SKY want/need is for the Dragons to reach the play-offs and play at home which seems ironic when the RFL is bending over backwards to encourage a Europa League style set-up.WE,the fans are lucky cos' RL is a minority sport buy SKY keeps pumping he money in - thank you SKY
SKY has been great for the Championship also with their thursday night coverage - ask ANY CC chairman to confirm that
As for SL going it alone - I personally can't see any point,what would change for the SL or CC ?
